Michael was already SIX solo albums and 15 years deep into his professional career when he linked with Quincy. There was absolutely nothing “early” about MJ’s career when he and Quincy started working. Mike was a vet

Mikes early albums were forgettable because they were made as a product of his Jackson 5 fame. They were made before “The Jackson’s” era. His first adult album was Off the Wall. Quincy helped him mature his sound.

As incredible as KD Trilogy & Magic:fire: run has been, there's no Nas Is Like/NY State of Mind:boss: comparison; plus Trackmaster, Large Pro, Salaam, and ALC has more memorbale production with NaS:lupe::ehh:

I wouldn't say his beat are trash, they are mostly overrated. Dude doing what DJ Hi Tek did in the late 90s and 2000s. Just because you manage to make jazzy boom bap beats next to the trap shyts, it doesn't mean you are GOAT tier, it just means that you can follow a different format that numerous beat makers/producers do on SoundCloud and Bandcamp.

WTF-SMH :scust:

Am I the only one that thinks hit boy is a bit overrated? His beats sound like they’re missing something, I can’t explain it. I love the MOBB disease series and Magic for the cohesion if anything but the production doesn’t blow me away.
Other than Nas Stan’s who thinks HB is some great producer

Quincy didn’t make Michael. Dude already had hits before Off The Wall, was writer, producer and arranger. And any other artist with those Thriller and Bad records don’t take it where Michael took it

At the same time, those albums don't sound like they sound without Quincy. No other producer would have been able to elevate at that level especially with the ambition that MJ had. Nobody else would have been able to see it through.

Call Got To Be There (which included a top 4 Billboard charting song) and Ben (which included Michael’s first number 1 charting song as a solo artist) “Forgettable” brehs

This is why I can't stand Stans and dikkriders. Nas still rapping over sub par beats and is in a creative slump - he's not talking about shyt now except how good his life is and his investments. He is in that stage that Jigga was when all he used to do is rap about himself. Hitboy ain't doing shyt for Nas.

None of this stuff with HitBoy is better than Illmatic, IWW or God's SOn.

Nas and HitBoy are making good music, at least for some people, but nothing special or groundbreaking.

Nas stans are acting like Nas is dropping some mega-classics.:mjlol:

The albums were not classics, they were single driven. I’m a MJ Stan btw. Motown didn’t really make cohesive albums until Marvin and Stevie started making concept albums. They usually put a few singles and a bunch of covers and put it out. MJ started to make actual full albums when he left Motown and they went to Epic with the Jacksons.
