I'll just say this. Magick is neither good nor evil. It just is. Take from that what you will.

You practice Ifa or another form of a Atr? I can't help but notice your avi.Watch your inbox.
I remember there being a huge voodoo thread awhile ago that generated a lot of interest, myself included. What I would like to know is what forms of magic are there and if one is looking into researching or studying it, what would be the best method or place to start (books, people, etc)?
I'm a child of Ellegua, but I'm not traditionally initiated.Yes. Any Hougan, Mambo, Babalawo, or bokor will tell you. It's truly is sad that most black folks are scared of many of our spiritual systems like voudou, ifa, palo etc. All it is basically is herbology, ancestor reverence and taping into things you normally wouldn't be able to through ceremonies. Similar to how buddhist monks can not feel pain after intense chi meditation. You aren't bound to any ATRs. You can be christian, atheist, muslism etc. Doesn't really matter to be apart of the system.

Before discussing "magic" it helps to define it. Cause we can all say the word "magic" but be thinking about different concepts.
In my opinion magic is just another aspect of manifestation, just a more hidden aspect.
At it's core magic is using cause and effect to manifest one's intent... syncing your intent, thoughts, emotions, and actions to create a result.
There are literally infinite levels to this because there are infinite levels to our existence and also to our imaginations... which is where the initial "magic" takes place.
