My guy drew the short straw when it comes to names
Name sounds permanent troll status
All of this...
He's in Y6. Nobody is the fukking GOAT 6 years in, and when this thread was created he was only entering Y3. This shyt really pisses me off...
The talent is undeniable, all 4 seasons as a starter they've been a Final Four team. But I stress to dudes, when Marino got to the Super Bowl in '83 (Y2), nobody thought he was never gonna win a Super Bowl. He played 16 more years and never even made it back...
When Rodgers won it all in '10 (Y3 as a starter), literally no one thought we'd be here today a dozen years later saying that 2010 was not only his only championship, it's been his only appearance at that stage...
Even Mahomes Stans went crazy expecting a dynastic run after the '19 chip and two complete seasons have gone by since they won it...
This shyt isn't easy. There's no guarantee he'll ever win another Super Bowl, for all we know Mahomes could play until 2034 and we're sitting here in a dozen years talking about how 2019 was the only championship. If I had to bet today, I'm definitely of the mind he'll win at least another one------->but I also expected Rodgers to win another one, I also expected Manning to win another one before he was washed, and if I was around in the 80s I'm sure I would have bet on Marino winning one...
He has to play better in bigger games as well, but guys gotta give him time. He's got ample quarterback competition in his era, we will find out in due time if he just looked the part or if he truly historically distances himself from not only his peers, but All-Timers who preceded him. 6 years in ain't it, though...
Yall are confusing this with a GOAT argument. I'm talking about talent at the position. Ability+Stats+Impact on wins.
So physical ability plus stats, your criteria seems consistent and I'll respect itTo me, “best” is a combination of ability + stats. “Greatest” takes things like longevity and team accomplishments (Super Bowls won) into account, which is why I say Brady is the Greatest but not the Best.
For example, I think Rodgers is capable of making every throw Brady can make. But Rodgers, and Mahomes, routinely do things that I’ve never seen anyone ever do; particularly on the move, outside of the pocket, etc. So I agree that there’s definitely a visual component involved as far as eye test, but that typically aligns with otherworldly talent being displayed that is so unique that you’ve just never seen anything like it. Just like Marino, where he came in and SHATTERED all previous passing records and even though he lost to the Niners in ‘84, it would be hard for anyone to argue that he wasn’t the best they ever saw while he was playing.
To your example, if Kyrie was putting up better numbers than Steph and Magic and doing things neither of those guys were doing, all while doing stuff they were capable of doing on their best day (he can’t), then it would be a stronger argument.
This is what I hate about sports now. We can’t let careers play out anymore. We have to call everyone GOAT before their careers are even half over
He’s one of the most talented QB’s I’ve ever seen but nobody is the GOAT this early into their career
He’s in the running for most physically talented QB ever with the likes of Rodgers Elway Farve Marino etc let’s see where his career ends up when it’s all said and done
It’s also a different era. So I give more credit to the all time greats from past eras then this one where teams throw it more often and you can’t play defense
I saw a stat that he’s tied for most TD’s ever through a certain amount of games with Marino
The fact Marino still has those record paces considering the era he played in is amazing
I don’t care about just rings for my money Marino is still the greatest QB talent I’ve ever seen

I agree with the last guy. Nobody is saying he's the GOAT. That's brady. As a Montana/49ers fan it took me forever to say that, but he's the GOAT. 7 rings is 7 rings. And he was doing the work for the majority of them.I think you guys are getting "GREATEST Of All Time" confused with "Best/Most Talented of All Time".
To me, it's undisputable that Brady is the GOAT, because of longevity and career accomplishments.
But I have Rodgers, Mahomes and Peyton above him as far as BEST I ever saw.
If some dude came into the NBA tomorrow as a rookie and averaged 100 points per game his rookie year and then blew out his knee and never played again, he wouldn't be the GOAT but could you honestly say that anyone was better at their peak?

But if you gave me the entire history of NFL qb's in a draft right now, ain't no fukking way I'm not taking Mahomes first. There is not one single thing he can't do, that any of them can do. But there's a whole list of things they can't do, that he can. I don't need to see 10 more years of football to say, Prime Mahomes, is the best QB I ever saw.
How long he maintains that prime, will determine his GOAT status. But to me, he's Jordan/Lebron. A dude that the second he touched the pros, you KNEW he was going to be expected to win it, every single year, until he retired. He's just that good that anything less is seen as a failure. Right now Pat getting to the AFC championship is EXPECTED of him, every single year. Lose his number 1, no line, defense bad.... Yea he better make the AFC championship if not win the SB.
Brady did this 20+ years breh. He actually went to SB half the times. He was expected to win SB.
Mahomes with all that talent still has only 1 ring. He stunk up in the SB. And he becomes mediocre against top D. He is all post snap. All that great instinct has limitations against top D. I do expect him to go to AFCC, but i dont expect him to win SB.
And no way in hell Mahomes go #1 in QB draft. If you do the redraft for current QB, Allen would go higher.

I'd say Rodgers is two.. What put Mahomes over for me is, this year 5 of starting.. From day one, the entire offense has been placed on his back and he's delivered to astronomical success. MVP, Ring, SB, AFCC.. That's not on the back of a defense like Brady's beginning. Or the bench for 3 years then still not on his back for a few years after. But most talented doesn’t always equal best let’s see how his career plays out
Plus I’d say someone like Rodgers in his prime had every bit the ability Mahomes did and played the position as well as you can play it
If 10 years ago you said Rodgers would never make another SB never mind not win another one people would think you’re crazy
You just never know how things are gonna play out
