Early Marvin was dope but people mention his later years because he stepped outside the box and trend with his music then. His early years he was doing the typical motown music of the time and singing those old classic ballads.

I can go on forever. Marvin Gaye is my alltime favorite artist...PERIOD. I feel like it can't possibly get better than Marvin Gaye. His music (in my opinion) is truly a gift from heaven, and I get chills EVERY time i hear any of these songs. i literally own EVERY album or song that he ever recorded. Listen to the "Vulnerable" and "Here, My Dear" albums, and you will be hooked. i can't understand why there hasn't been a movie done on marvin gaye's life. it would be a STELLAR movie.....

I think he's really overrated. Album wise he only has one or two classics IMO then maybe two decent to good ones.
