I'm going to say this ( me personally, I agree and I understand it's a team game) So I understand. My arguments against Ryan are geared more towards Falcon fans, because like I said, They will blame everyone but him. I mean here the Falcons have a new coaching staff, and they'll get blamed for things that were going on way before they even got here. They pick and choose when he's a leader, and when he's a victim, he shouldn't be getting that money, and right now he's currently the 5th best player on the team
I agree somewhat with this.

When i first moved to ATL in 2004-2005 i realized why Mike Vick hadnt made much progress. It was always the OL and the OC. Never Vick so Vick never felt much pressure except for the few racist radio host f@ggots and a few fans that didnt want a black QB to begin with. However those few were very vocal. We'll get back to that.

Same thing for Ryan but Ryan was highly criticized by the fanbase in the beginning but his biggest flaws were hidden by the fact that they had Turner carrying the load and Tony Gonzalez as an escape valve. Roddy was already beasting by the time he came in. Sad that Vick was gone by the time Roddy came into his own. And then he got Julio.

But overall the fans have been fairly critical enough of him and to be honest some of t was a bit racial because you had some white fans over celebrating his average performance while some black fans were mad Vick's critics were far more vocal than Ryan's. But In general Falcons fans have always been critical enough of Matt up until 3 years ago when he shut them up with a couple of good seasons. I think it was the year they lost in the NFC championship game to the Niners. I could be wrong. So then it was the damn OC being blamed for everything.

However if you listen to the radio stations in town it's almost like 24/7 fellatio on Matt Ryan from the hosts. Not the fans. Among the fans i'd say it's 60/40 or 65/35 for/against Matt Ryan. The 60 overrate the fukk out of him. THe 40 think hes trash. I swear this to you i've had Falcon fans who told me they'd take Ryan Tannehill over Matt Ryan any day. Mind you this was before he put up the MVP year but still. Now, I'm a Dolphins fan. And while i'm one of the Ryan haters I'd take him over Tannehill any day. And there are plenty others i'd take him over.

Bottom line to me: Top 10 if not top 7 QB in the league as of last year when you take his last 5 years into account. No way is he in the Elite class of Brady, Breeze and Rodgers. Overpaid? Hell yes. But he's not garbage by any means.

bc of the Legendary talent he has been surrounded with his whole career, that's why....and then this year --- we draft the #1 rated WR in the draft, looks familiar to me :usure:

Ya'll need to chill with this stuff that Matt Ryan :trash:
Is he prime Brady or Breeze or even among the elite of his position? NO. But there are far worst QBs in the league than him. Dude is at least top 10 and you could even arggue top 6 or 7.
And this coming from a Matt Ryan hater, BTW
nikka...fucc all that....Ryan is a Grade A choke artist and he continually proves that time after time after time..:birdman:

He's a game manager...... He had one year that we would consider "elite" and then the following season, he was back to his normal game-managing self...He isn't a impact player. He's a "safe" QB on the field and off.

front office should have drafted a QB just for competition sakes.....Matt is too comfortable at QB, and he hasn't done enough to sit in his seat as comfortable as he does

2 out of the last 3 seasons for him were average to mediocre

NFL really makes it hard to judge the new age QBs ever since the rules changes to benefit the offense. You put an average QB in a good offense scheme they will put up great numbers. Matt Ryan and Stafford are 2 of the QBs that hard to judge.

I'm aware he's been surrounded by good talent. It doesn't matter. The guy is a very solid QB and you can do a lot worse. Like I said in another thread if a QB was in the draft right now and you were guaranteed he would have Matt Ryans ceiling he would he a #1 pick every time. Put it like this if you had any other QB in the division it's not like the Falcons record would be so much better than it has been.

All I'm saying is BY COMPARISON you could do a lot worse. A lot of MOST teams out there would switch QBs with you in a heartbeat

that's my point....Ryan hit his ceiling mainly b/c of multitude of talent the Falcons continue to put around him.

Matt ain't a bad QB....He is a good QB but he is always paid like he is a consistent elite QB which he is not.....Ryan will have taken Atlanta for about 300 million dollars after this deal is done.

Man...we need more than playoff chokes to constitute that kind of money

This i'll never dispute. :hubie:

To me there are many QBs out there who are far worst than Ryan but some Falcons fans make him seem like he's one of the absolute bottom 1/3 QBs in the league. I told you a few posts back that a Falcons fan once told me he'd give up Matt Ryan for Ryan Tannehill in a heartbeat. Seems like their hatred for Ryan blinds them from the reality of these other QBs as they suffer from that "grass is greener on the other side" disease. All I know is if i need a QB right now for one season from the top of my head without thinking names i'm not making it to 10 or 12 names without Ryan being in it. You dont know what you got until it's gone

To those who insist he's :trash:i say this: Ryan Tannehill, Dak Prescott, Andy Dalton are considered "average" if not "slightly above average" starting QBs in this league. Enough said.
