It can be a classic to you. For me, Stillmatic was pretty far into the game. Reminds me of playing high school basketball, going to games on the bus listening to Ether and One Mic and people trying to tell me Jay-Z's career was over. I didn't believe them because I knew The Takeover was hot lava. But I was already deep into Nas (4 albums and the Firm and QBs Finest).

Nastradamus & QBs Finest were pretty disappointing so I think Stillmatic was the album that guaranteed he would be in my top 3 MC list forever. I would call it a borderline classic though because it's still not as good as Illmatic or It Was Written.

How can album starting off with blood of Slave, heart Of King, then proceeding songs like

Ether, Got Urself A Gun, Rewind, Once Mic, Ur Da Man, Second Childhood, The Flyest, Destroy Rebuild, My Country, and What Goes Around (Poison) not be a CLASSIC:ohlawd:

This album raised me. So to me its a classic.

I was 11 when it dropped, and it changed my outlook on life, and the type of music I fukked with. I had to go back and listen to Illmatic, It Was Written, and his other shyt.
They played the Stillmatic Intro on the radio, then I went and copped it immediately.
I was more of a Hov fan before this, but this changed the game.

I remember the debates that fall in in school about what was the best album, Stillmatic, Blueprint or Great Depression.

Noit even as good as Lost Tapes, which just says it all in regards to the greatness of Nasir.

No, has some classic songs for sure but overall it's just a good cd. It was given 5mics simply because hov had just got 5mics

I agree Illmatic and It Was Written are better albums but can you penalize the goat for having more classics than anyone else:usure: Should there be a limit on classics an artist is allowed to have:ohhh:

Stillmatic really doesn't have many lackluster tracks on it. I'm fine with it being listed as a classic.
