Some people wanna work, but not all. I am very much aware of what you have stated, but once again, what is YOUR solution?
A low wage job sucks. No debate about it. However, if a person is unemployed, then what are their options legally? Sometimes, you have to swallow your pride, humble oneself and take what you can get, then begin the process of obtaining the skills to obtain a better paying job or take a chance and start your own venture.
Companies aren’t vested in keeping up with the cost of living increases and inflation. Their primary focus is increasing their bottomline.
People have options. They can either work, like most people, or not work. The choice is theirs!
You’re overlooking a lot of things. First off, EVERYBODY cannot work in these fields that pay well. It’s not enough positions for EVERYONE to get one. Even with most people not having college degrees there are still a ridiculous amount of unused degrees belonging to people who spent years in college only to not even be able to obtain an entry level position in the career they majored in. So how is the solution MORE people need to get the education required when there are already a shytload of educated people un or underemployed?
Secondly, if EVERYONE owns their own business, who exactly are going to be the employees for these businesses? The problem is society at large has forgotten the worker is just as important if not MORE important than the employer. They’re the ones that actually provide the work to keep the business running. Without them the employer makes absolutely nothing. But society has brainwashed people into believing the boss is the important one.
Also, people have to work these jobs in fast food, retail stores etc. Who the hell gone take your order if absolutely no one works in a restaurant because they’re all working on working in high paying careers and/or becoming entrepreneurs?
The problem is both employers and society at large see these workers as beneath them. You can see this just by how they get treated/spoken to by customers. When in actuality they play just as important of a role in a functional society as the bosses/entrepreneurs people put on a pedestal. If anything the workers are more important.
There should not be a such thing as a job in the US that pays less than $20/hr. 30 minimum for places with high costs of living. There should not be any job that pays less than the amount needed to have your own place, transportation, other necessities AND extra for leisure.
People are starting to see this and telling these companies/employers to go fukk themselves, as they should
Adding $2-3/hr to already extremely low wages, like some of these corporations have done recently won’t cut it. They need to double wages at minimum or go out of business.
