Is the Forum finally dying?

reddit is alive and well. Unlimited members and unlimited subforums. With anonyminity cause its not linking you to every single person you know. It pains me to say that its> thecoli. But factually with the numbers and unlimited subreddits... It is what it is.

I used to log in here as the first thing in the day. Now if i check the forums. probably nothing classic happening.

Reddit is a hyper message board unlike anything ever seen before. It focuses on an endless amount of communities from to to to and everything in between. It’s no wonder it’s the most famous forum on the web.

Forums like Coli are a dying breed; like booty box tvs to 4k TV flatscreens. I like Reddit, but it’s filled with a shytload of idiots, a$$holes, and sensitive people. I’ve been banned from so many communities, so I’ll give this forum credit for not being power trippers.

yeah I got banned from commenting in one community cause someone asked what a joke was and I said oh the joke is about Tranny's.

Those AI bots are strict and shytty too. I’m trying to cut back commenting on stuff (even here), but once you find a way to swim in those waters you’ll be cool. Each sub has its own identity tho.

its a different type of platform but being able to bump years old threads and put them on the frontpage is something thats not possible on reddit. quoting users across sub-forums. even the search functionality on xenforo is better than reddit.

What's sad about Reddit's search functionality is that I've heard about people talking about how it fell off. For a site that big, the search functionality is expected be good.

the search functionality was never really good, that's why googling "site:reddit.com" was really popular. thousands of comments on that site 13+ years ago advising users to do just that. I use to use a pullpush backed search site daily to search posts/comments because the site admins never figured out how to build a working search solution.

the search functionality was never really good, that's why googling "site:reddit.com" was really popular. thousands of comments on that site 13+ years ago advising users to do just that. I use to use a pullpush backed search site daily to search posts/comments because the site admins never figured out how to build a working search solution.

Google also pushed them to the forefront on their search engine with a partnership of $60 million per year. Without google, reddit probably wouldn’t be as big it is today.

If google decides to drop reddit from the search engine one day, reddit would crumble lol

that deal is only recent because of chatgpt and A.I companies need for genuine user-generated text content. reddit been a top site for like 10 years before that, google needs reddit more than reddit needs google cause you can still search reddit site via others search engine old search index.. every a.i company is scraping reddit because the data is so valuable. before the google reddit deal was made I caught google Bard(before it was named Gemini) indexing a reddit thread less than 30 mins old. theres other search engines, theres only one reddit.

Yeah I’m coming here less and less as Reddit has damn near anything I want to read or be entertained by lately.
