Is this “we are not a monolith” talk code for “I am one of the good ones”?

:yeshrug: we not monolith- I am no c00n, I never lived around white people, had a white friend, or even have any white family members.

I am just a regular black breh- who has been around enough folks to realize that not everyone is on the same page as me and if they aren't fukk them I don't care if they are black or not.

Some of these people are not "c00ns" as well, some black police officers, managers, coworkers, cashiers, drug dealers, robbers, bus drivers, security clerks etc have black families, live around black people, love being black but don't give two shyts about whether you black or not- if they don't like you then....... they don't like you.

People not walking around with this "my black brother" mantra.
I agree 100% but it becomes dangerous when black folks go outta their way to put down other blacks simply becuz of the time they’re using white stereotypes to do so

Are you telling me that other people dictate how one looks at himself? I thought we all had different thoughts and opinions?
:mjpls:

I find it very interesting that people being self aware enough to understand the majority of their interests being wildly different from the people they typically hang around makes them the different ass nikka in the group makes you feel a way op.:jbhmm:

Right, I mean there's a clear difference between someone of my background( from west la) and someone who grew up in South LA. I tend to take things for granted and maybe a bit more passive in my approach to life versus my intraracial peer, who's just as distinguished as me.

The point is when people typically make these type of I'm different statements, what they're really attempting to do is distance themselves from being black and seeking white acceptance / mainstream approval.

What's understood doesn't need to be said.

But then they turn around and call Russell Wilson lame becuz for some reason they see him in their self. Which is ridiculous becuz Russell Wilson has prolly spent his entire life being the man

We couldn’t even get past the third post before someone brought up deadbeats and hoodrats like that had anything to do with the thread. Just goes to show you how some of us think
:mjcry:
We aren’t a monolith becuz some of us aren’t hoodrats and deadbeats
:wow:
