Kanye is an outspoken guy. He has made quality music for almost a decade. He's a trendsetter for those that like to follow trends. Kanye West is arguably the biggest Hip Hop success story of this generation when you look at his ENTIRE story. He worked hard, paid his dues and made the right decisions, the most important believing in himself and willing himself into the position he's in. For a long time this guy's drive, focus and passion was one of the reasons he was about to be my new GOAT....
2013 hasn't been a good look for Kanye. Or has Kanye not been a good look for 2013? :patrice:
Is Kanye West really a misunderstood genius or another nikka in his 2nd Childhood? :ahh:

It's time to answer these questions as an adult because College Dropout dropped when I was 17. This is entertainment but it's also influence so I just want to be clear on what we're really looking at here.

What is this nikka talking about at any given point in time anymore?

:damn:

This isn't about his ability to make good music anymore....I don't really question that. Kanye has enough passion for hip hop to last. I'm just honestly confused about what his purpose is. It seems like he forgot his own wisdom "even if you in a benz you still a nikka in a coupe" and is fighting so hard for them to see that coupe as a benz. I don't he cares about the craft as much as he cares about being accepted into high society now. He wants to be apart of a club that will never grant him access. He's new money and is intoxicated by his new stank, while they're actually revolted by it.

Kanye West if you read this, you are the biggest star on the planet but it hasn't been because of Hip Hop. It's because you keep emasculating yourself in front of the world under the guise of being a revolutionary. How did it go from "drug dealers by jordans crack head by crack and the white man get paid offa' alla that" to fawning and damn near begging for these european cacs in the fashion world to like and accept you?

Ye' will never hear or read this and even if he did he'd reject it. His cac hipster fan base will continue to praise his elusive genius, furthering his delusion. For this reason, Ye' is doing bad out here. His ego has always been big and his music has always been crack. But he got a taste of massive cac critical acclaim and it just magnified his ego to truly dangerous levels. It's dangerous enough to take him to where he feels he wants to be, but at what cost?

This is an industry that breeds self destruction, especially those with large ego's. He built the Spaceship he always wanted with College Dropout and a decade later it looks like he's constructing his own glass ceiling to crash into....or through....

but again....at what cost?

the irony of the man that brought "soul beats" back to the forefront, leveraging that sampled soul....to gain the world...and lose his own.

:wow:

I read something interesting on tumblr earlier, just somebody giving their opinion on all things Kanye as of late and he/she had some interesting shyt to say, which is kind of sobering.

I'm not an advocate of labeling everybody with this or that issue "mentally ill" especially in the case of just using that to load them up on meds or even dismiss their opinons as crazy, I hate that dismissive attitude toward people who think/see shyt differently. But this person kinda touched on the line "now tell my mama I belong in the slow class" and hinted at him possible being autistic to some degree, wouldn't be out of the question.

Well I think most creative greats suffer from some sort of neurosis, which is probably also the link to their genius. I think someone eluding to the fact that Ye' could be autistic from a memorable line is :whoa:. Lots of black males, especially in the 80's and 90's were readily put into "slow classes" with no real justification other than the fact they didn't want to have to deal with them. That's a entirely different subject, but I know alot of intelligent cats now, who in middle school were in that class that was only one class....all day. :takedat: If prison doesn't get you first, the public school system does an excellent job of singling individuals out to systematically make them feel less than. If you remember back around the time of Late Registration, Kanye was doing all of those free shows for the Chicago public school kids who got good grades. I think back then when he really did have an inkling of of revolutionary in him, he wanted to motivate kids because he knows what it's like to be predetermined to fail. This is where his huge ego comes from. He constantly has to prove that he's worthy....but this isn't public school....

Like I said, it's a possibility he's just truly stuck in his 2nd childhood and has replaced his non-believing teachers with couture fashion designers and major corporations. I have no problem with him fighting his fight....it's just that I don't think he's assessed his situation and doesn't see the reality of his actions. It's like when you watch Ye in an interview or even in a still picture it's ALL EGO 100%. That's more dangerous than the possibility of being mildly autistic. I really think this is the first time we've got to witness what a true egomaniac looks like at that level.

Breh, you've made some points but this here quoted: all wrong.

He doesn't just want to ride the Benz, or even desigm a Benz. He wants to truly OWN that coupe. Crack dealers buy Yeezy's but Kanye doesn't get any royalties from that. The big moolah is ALL Nike's.

Riding in a coupe you're making everyone else rich. He wants to actually be the one putting out the coupe and banking hard. He's tryna get paid properly. Not just using the money, creativity that he has to only perpetuate the wealth of others by just wearing their clothes or having collab's. He's trying to be the dude putting out Benz's or sneakers. Not just a dude getting paid upfrony yo design 1 trainer every couple years.

Peep this: New Slaves is the evolution All Falls Down. On All Falls Down 'Ye is just talking about loving/hating the consumerism. Loving the products but hating how it actually does nothing for his self-worth. So he buys a Benz, that doesn't mean he's rich he's making others rich. Now he doesn't just want to stunt, he actually wants to own and distribute the types of brands he loves so much. But nah just "come in, please come more". But buy owning a Ralph Lauren, 'Ye will actually break the cycle.

Do y'all really have a problem understanding the societal concepts he speaks of?

90 percent of what he's saying is just whining for financing and y'all really can't understand it?

whether it's all falls down Ye or new slaves Ye' it's still ass backwards. Why? His quest to "own" the plantation because being an overseer making the other slaves follow along isn't fun to him anymore is still bullshyt. Because to own a Nike or to own any major profitable corporation means to employ slave labor. Period. Ask Apple how their profit margin is so insanely high.....Foxconn. Where are your sneakers made and by whom and for how much? Same thing goes with diamonds and all luxury goods. To own any plant/plantation that has global influence that Kanye so desperately desires means another group of people must lose....and lose hard. There is no debating that. The new slaves want newer slaves and want you to praise them as revolutionaries. GTFO.

He wants to be like Pac but it's not him and he's complaining about the wrong things.
Fashion discrimination(not even racial in his case) is like the least important discrimination issue, specially when it's about behind the scene shyt.

As long as he keeps on dropping classics, putting on the best shows and designing dope sneakers I could give two ducks about the bullshyt/real shyt he talks. I don't turn to celebrities for answers regarding real shyt.

Think about this

a recording artists submits an album to the label, they get paid an advance usually and the record is put out . . they earn royalties on the success of the product

A fashion designer, submits a multi-million dolar design, get's paid upfront . . no royalty . . what if that were to change? :lupe: . . what if the fashion designer essentially had a record deal?

essentially this is what charlamagne was trying to get him to admit when he kept asking kanye, "why denounce the corporation and then ask for their support."

kanye keeps trying to drop knowledge, but anyone with a glimmer of knowledge on economic systems sees the bullshyt. kanye isn't speaking AGAINST capitalism which is really the slave owner. no, he's simply saying, "I want to make capitalism work for us." And capitalism will always make someone a slave.

And those of us who are absolutely fed up with the system are like what kinda fake ass revolutionary shyt is that. He thinks that somehow owning the system will make it all better. Well it will….FOR HIM. Kanye is LITERALLY proselytizing trickle down economics and all his fans are gargling his nuts.
