What I’ve beeb studying up...just finished docker and about to dive into K8s

Right now I am picking up Linux CLI/Bash stuff atm. Learning basic scripts and shyt and trying to understand how the kernel/terminal/hardware all work together. A brehs fired up the VM lab with Kali and a Linux OVA and everything. shyt seems a bit frustrating at first, but I am getting the hang of this and it feels satisfying getting something right after hours of frustration. One thing that has helped me out is how familiar this feels coming from some light Python stuff. Gonna tinker around in Openstack after I feel adept enough. :jawalrus:
I have been eying Docker for a minute now, but I am trying to work my way there. Kubernetes is something I've heard of but haven't done much research on yet. I am just not sure how much that cloud computing + automation stuff intersects with the field I am trying to enter (cybersec analyst), these job titles be confusing a brehs. Because sometimes it sounds like a lot of this stuff goes hand and hand with DevOps stuff which often sounds like a cybersec role in a lot of job postings I see. It's almost as if these job titles are arbitrary with the biggest distinctions being made at "analysts" and "engineers."

Kubernetes is the next step with Docker. It orchestrates your Docker deployments. Learn how to use it. But what you really want with it is development experience, that's what companies (who don't actually know what they want) want these days. So pick up Go and poke around in the code.

My SQL training took a bit of a pause due to the insane amount of work I had in the office. I should be at a good place by the end of the month with SQL. I'll start asking our Intelligence and Analytics group for some side projects to get more practice.

Also need to float my resume out some more.

HOUS-e-
So the meeting went fine today.. My interviewer(Talent Acquisition Specialist) seemed pretty impressed with what I was saying. I just gotta wait for the background check to to go through and hear back from the hiring manager. Once that happens and if everything goes right they'll extend an offer to me. Its paying $19.25 to start off with plus I get part of commission making sale targets too. 37k a year is not bad to start off. EDIT: all this is happening before I retake my A+ 902 again.:blessed:

The PM said he only gonna pick some of the high performers to get a higher level clearance cuz he know nikkas be bouncin after gettin a Secret or top secret. The team was all brehs #BlackDMVExcellence :blessed:

Get on that Docker, Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code brehs who are familiar with cloud computing :wow:

I messed around with micro services services a bit. A lot of the jobs I see on Indeed with Kubernertes skill set are hitting $145K.....you could eat something serious if you know Kubernetes.

Any brehs know where to get side gigs? I am looking on indeed but most of these fools want you to be available for the daytime? :hhh: I would not mind project based assignment where I can knock it on the week end or so. If could 15-20 hours of work at least 20 per hour, I'd be straight. Would dump all that money extra money into a house. Can't even lie, I worry about aging the field.

Congrats bro. Where should I start with all this?

You should look into IT contractors in the area. But, if you dont like self studying, computers or tech its gonna be hard to like the field. The field has alot of lowballing salary wise too, but depending on the recruiter, they’ll tell their clients you want higher pay. Helpdesk has different levels. Most ppl new to IT start there and venture off to a specific field after a few years. You dont wanna just work in help deak for years n years. You gotta move up to higher positions and thats where certs and exp come into play.Like me, Im getting into information security, so im taking my sec+, cysa+ and possibly pentest+ and learning python soon.
