Westbrook's true colors were exposed in the final 2 minutes against Chicago last night

:yeshrug:

  • Bricking shot after shot
  • Playing hero ball
  • Trying to be everywhere on the court(remember game 6 when he left Danny Green open to defend Duncan? There you go)

Man needs to ease up and trust his teammates some more.... Okay maybe not.

the difference is AI led a team full of bums to the finals

when sabo went to the finals, he WAS the supporting cast

and honestly he will prolly never see the finals again
Westbrook was the supporting cast? :what:

Durant was clearly the best player, but Westbrook was still a top 10 player and was just as good as Durant in stretches.

If Durant weren't so passive then you wouldn't see Westbrook trying so hard to will his team. Give Westbrook his own team and a solid number 2 some Rebounders/defenders/spot up shooters and he should have a shot at a ring
durant is only passive in comparison to sabo's fukkery

he's the best player on the team, but Westbrook is convinced he is instead of allowing himself to be the 2nd guy

building around him as a first option is a recipe for disaster, as history has shown he isn't meant to be the main guy

:francis:One of these threads huh? :snooze:

I only brought up kobe cuz of all the constant comparisons between the two, and how hard the kobe stans ride for him and consider him the second coming and all that shyt :heh:

yea, he was part of the supporting cast...anyone who isn't the #1 guy on a team is :manny:

wade was still a top 10 player but he didn't mind taking a backseat and deferring to lebron, and they won 2 rings because of it

but in the history books it will show wade as being part of lebron's supporting cast

westbrook has brainwashed himself into believing he is the best player in okc and that it's his team, despite all the evidence to the contrary...and that's why he will never win

I agree with some of OP's points then he added the unnecessary Kobe slander so I had to hit him with the obligatory 1 star, dap/undap neg:francis:. That being said, only way OKC is winning a ship is through KD has the number 1 option and I think Russ knows that. His pace right now is unsustainable. He's just trying to do everything he can until KD gets back and they can shift the load. Anyone thinking he's gonna still be averaging like 33 attempts per game WITH KD is a jackass:manny:. Balance will win OKC a title this year

Apparently Durant has struggled as the main guy. All I know is when the game is on the line and a play needs to be made offensively/defensively its Westbrook out there getting busy while Durant is chilling at the 3 pt line. .. I do see comparisons of Westbrook to Iverson/Kobe. Any team building around Westbrook will have to model what the Sixer's/Lakers did for their stars to get to the finals

I don't care about his triple doubles

I don't care about him being a gunner with a killer instinct

I don't care about him shyttin on media cacs in the locker room

he will NEVER win a ring as long as he plays the way he plays now, his style is not conducive to winning; his style is conducive to making himself look good and getting fans of hero ball to rally behind him

I understand why the kobe stans think so highly of him, but kobe had the luxury of playing with the most dominant player of all time for his first 3 rings, and a decent enough cast to carry him to his last 2

sabo doesn't have that luxury, and the way he shoots his team outta games and refuses to even acknowledge his teammates in late game situations is fun to watch, but it will never get him anywhere except espn highlights
durant leaving okc in 2016 will expose westbrook for the pretender he really is

facts
I would agree if he was the best player on his team

I dont think a team with Westbrook as 'the man' can win a ring.

But as long as KD on his team they'll have a chance every year

I think KD hinders his growth because he needs to realize everything OP said is RIGHT!

But with KD there to help keep him somewhat tamed, he will never see the error of his ways. Low key Jordan was a lot like Russ but after failing over and over he finally smartened up. Westbrook might do the same. :yeshrug:

We compare mind sets. Skill set is completely different story:yeshrug:. On that team we know KD should be shooting the shot with the game on the line. I love Russ cause he has a killer mentality. He can also annoy me for that same reason cause I don't believe his skill level is high enough to be as aggressive as he is at some points. Nothing bothers me more than a Russ Westbrook sprint up mid range J :snoop:. Love the aggression but that ain't his game. Would rather him pass it out to a shooter or drive to the rim

how has durant struggled as the main guy tho? :dwillhuh: I think anyone would agree that the team is much better off with durant in charge than westbrook

as for building around russy as the main guy, good luck with that....his unwillingness to get his teammates involved down the stretch isn't gonna magically change because he got some more all stars around him :heh:

If Russ takes his current run as a declaration that he must but the guy who eats first, than OP is right. This team starts and ends with KD. Russ is amazing but when you have a dude like KD on your team he must be the main dude on offense. Period

Came in here to disagree with OP and then I looked at the list of the last 25 NBA Champions. No team had a player like :youngsabo:. I mean Kobe and :mjpls: are different in the way they command the ball but honestly it was mostly teams winning rings. The CLOSEST comparison to Russ of anyone who has won a Championship would be :gladbron: . Not saying they are close at all in terms of skill, but as far as percentage of time they need the ball to be effective :gladbron: is the closest to :youngsabo: with a ring other than Kobe and :mjpls:

Durant has struggled because he has been building a reputation for being physically weak and passive over the last several years. He'd be the GOAT if he played with Westbrook ambition
