We got them babershops, restaurants, and hair salons.
That is the common answer so far.
it's like that in every hood....and lawn care services.

That’s what up!I'd say between maybe 12 to 15
A few barbershops
2 Haitian restaurants
1 Jamaican restaurant (There's 3 in my neighborhood but the other 2 are owned by a Chinaman and a Lebanese)
The McDonalds near my house is franchised by a black man (I know because he goes to my church)
There's a rich nikka from the Bahamas that has his hands in mad shyt (I don't even know where he got his money from) and he owns a laundromat, a pool hall and a check cashing/payday loan center
I’m noticing we own the churches and funeral homes. The babershops/hair Salons and a few restaurants
It’s looking like the only thing black owned in black neighborhoods are hair salons/babershops, funeral homes, churchs and restaurants.Myth? Black people will go to whats available. If a chinese man owns it thats were they going...indian white Black....Blacks go to whats available.

Black people All frequent all of those heavy, so it’s looking like we do support black owned business, we just dont own a diverse group of business or many business in our own communities.
I agree with you, we don’t dont discriminate against non-blacks, but we clearly do support each other
I’m really starting to see it is just that.i've always thought this was an overblown myth used to push some sort of agenda that i'm not even clear on what it is
but like you said, barber shops and beauty salons are always packed across the country and stay in business for years, decades even.
those ARE black businesses that we support all the time.
maybe they mean other non-conventional black businesses, but for the most part we overwhelmingly support each other
Yes.Used to have a black owned dispensary right down the street until the city hated on it for no reason other than
@FeloniousMonk
Serious question, because people keep talking about supporting black business and AAs need to support each other, and all these black people need to support each other....
So, how many business do you know in your neighborhood that are actually black owned?
I don’t mean business that are being operated day to day by black people in your neighborhood, I mean the entire business is owned by a black person.
This isn’t meant to be insulting or divisive. I’m legit curious to know neighborhood by neighborhood, Coli poster by poster, how many black owned business are in your hood?
What type of business is it, if it is black owned.
Not interested if you support it or not. Not interested if it is a good or bad business, just want to know what is black owned and what type of business is it (I.e barbershop)
Don’t have to give your whole city. Just only interested in the business around your home, in your general area. Business with a physical officer or building. Not talking about independent contractors who work out of various places. I mean a permenant business in the same spot everyday
For example,
Got 6 babershops, 8 hair salons, 5 fast food restaurants, 3 African supply stores, and that’s it for my general area, everything else is not black owned, but got black people running it or working there
I’m from Brooklyn. You can walk Nostrand, Utica or any main thoroughfare in Flatbush/crown heights/bedstuy/Canarsie and you’ll come past 10+ black owned businesses.
For the black rednecks on here, yes AA aswell as West Indian
