Yea i’ve NEVER been the biggest TI fan but the impact of ATL/King was simply undeniable. Especially living in Atlanta during that time period. If dude wasn’t King of The South he was certainly King of the CITY.
I always go by what Lil Scrappy said during the Trap Muzik phase. Tip said he was King of the South and no one said he wasn’t :yeshrug:

TI still snapping. His music has actually evolved with his age. He may make a trap anthem every now and again, but his 2 most recent albums have shown mature subject matter. It’s amazing to me how people can discard Us against the system, but then praise Jay Z 444. The whole political/social construct of Us against the system is excellent
I love Dime Trap. If not for Daytona, Drogas Wave, and KOD it would be my album of the year last year.

I like Dime Trap as well, still in my weekly rotation. I love the term “diversified vibes” TI uses during the interlude for amazing to describe his current sound. I like the evolution. Drogus Wave is my album of the year too-Thanks Coli.

Yes they did, Lil Flip did, Luda did when he was asked. But for a stretch, until Wayne took over, he was the biggest rapper in the South...

Was always cool lyrically, had a lot of hits and dope features. I still go back to them occasionally. Big Things Poppin was my shyt as a kid and What You Know is one of the greatest beats ever made. I think off mic apppeal is important especially to a young audience and to me he was dope but I didn't wanna be TI.

Trap Muzik, Urban Legend, and King are all certified fire

Tip held it down from street anthems, to huge pop hits, to the big screen.

In 2006 you couldn’t say shyt about Tip not being that dude

for the record i do think T.I. is overrated as hell but he has some joints...he's in my personal list of rappers that i can tolerate/like songs here and there but not for whole albums...same way i feel with the likes of e-40 and joe budden

you know what i have to agree with you bro, i think i'm serious might be tip's best shyt too

still ain't forgave myself is an unbelievable record, was just listening to that shyt not too long ago. dope boyz, you ain't hard, heavy chevys, the list goes on. granted he had bigger singles on later albums but pound for pound that's his best shyt

and wayyy off topic 'cause it just came to mind, but am i the only tip fan that loves why you wanna? that crystal waters sample was swaggy and his bars impeccable. think it's a top 10 tip record even though it was aimed at the ladies

Still Aint Forgave is my favorite record from that joint, hands down. When I first played the CD, that song pulled me in instantly and it was a wrap from there. last half of the album is straight fire after fire track.

I thought mostly everyone loved Why You Wanna? :mindblown: thats a record that always comes to mind when I think of him.
