I love K Dot and Cole but I hate when people pit them against eachother


I personally think Kendrick is the better album maker and already has at least 1 classic to his name but at the same time a good amount Kendrick's songs are hit and miss, in that regard I would say Cole is the more consistent of the two at releasing quality material. And as an artist/producer myself I have an appreciation for Cole's ability to do both because it's incredibly difficult, people don't understand that.

at releasing quality material? you're comparing cole to someone who is being praised for dropping nothing but flawless or near flawless albums? yeah seems like you're only talking about your personal enjoyment...because quality wise, cole is not touching kendrick and it is a fact.

like joe budden said, cole will never top gkmc, and if he can't top gkmc then he can't top tpab either.

Whenever i hear Cole rapping about the hood and streets you can really tell he was outside looking in!!

Yes it's cool he dedicated the tape to his/friend daughter but that doesn't warrant praise. The tape was bland and there were nothing deep or special at all. He barely scratched the surface of where he actually could've taken the project. Don't get me started on the corny ass folding clothes, the adult version of wet dreamz lol.

Yes he's had a kid I guess and is married but this album is still immature. If it was the opposite this would be his version of Life Is Good

I thought J. Cole was going for the crown with the songs he debuted....

...After listening to this, I can't help but feel disappointed.

Not like it's wack...It's just super aiiiight.... Too much singing, mood setting, trying to be musical shyt.....So much more he could've touched on content wise...

Theres some GREAT songs on here like Change, Neighbors and Ville Mentality are nice.

But this dude is just dragging his feet on some of this shyt under the guise of this fake-deep "artiste" bullshyt.

i dont understand why people keep comparing this to tpab......
tpab is a much more well rounded project....
this just feels incomplete....like its really missing something
usually 10 tracks on an album usually means its direct and hitting its point with zero miscalculations....but this shyt should be atleast 12-14 tracks if he's going with this type of vibe.
