Kendrick is really the only artist thats pushing the boundaries. His next album about to be some cold shyt. I can feel it.
Kendrick is lucky to have Robert Glasper, Kamasi Washington and Terrance Martin crafting his albums.

Anderson Paak is more talented than Kendrick...AND I'm not even talking about playing instruments.

Stop playing right now.

He made a whole damn album about one particular which is fatherhood from a man caught up on the street lifestyle... Like the whole album is about that :dead: guess thats not a deep enough commitment tho

Again u sound like the same corny regurgitated cliche cole hating points. Rests on his laurels? nikka went from tryin to sound like Kanye, to tryna sound like Outkast, to finally findin his own pocket. Like BS, FHD, and this one r all different thematically and sonically. Wut laurels iz he restin, on? This is his first album where theres not a single braggadocious bar. I dont bruh u jus got me kinda confused.
clearly...j cole can do no wrong in your eyes
i never shyt on j cole for any of his prior work but you're trying to force me into a j cole hater box...
i guess this is where people find some supporters obnoxious
so because he doesnt have a "braggadocious" bar that means he's rapping differently? gotcha. his story telling is the same...imagery...the same. delivery the same.
peace :mjlol:

i dont understand why people keep comparing this to tpab......
tpab is a much more well rounded project....
this just feels incomplete....like its really missing something
usually 10 tracks on an album usually means its direct and hitting its point with zero miscalculations....but this shyt should be atleast 12-14 tracks if he's going with this type of vibe.
cole likes rapping around in circles without staying on subject with something thought provoking
like someone else said...i aint tryna hear a nikka rap about folding clothes.
i liked fhd more.
dude just throws cliches in the pot without any understanding.

I mean T.I.'s "Us or Else" was more organic from an activist stand-point with far more depth and introspection. I mean for fukks sake...Ross and Gucci do this shyt better than a "woke" dude like Cole does.

Cole just literally reads headlines with no true artistic interpretation...and yet he gets all the accolades and praise for it.

Its infuriating for fans like me of music who want to see actual talent get their recognition.

Let's wait to see if this is cole's tpab... I mean, let's wait to see if this is cole's true masterpiece

not gonna be easy though

T2R04pT.jpg

not a fair comparison , though, tpab is quite possibly the best album of the last 20 years, and not just in rap :yeshrug:

I don't even know why some of you listen to Cole. It is apparent some of you listen to him just to hate. If you don't like his style and thinks he is boring, then cool. If you like trap beats and like to turn up Cole is just not for you. I never understood whypeople listen to artists they don't like

Anyways of off the 1st listen I really enjoyed the album. I think some of it is age related. Me and Cole are about the same age, so I can relate to the subject matter more than some of you who are a little younger. Being married settling down with family, looking at the crazy shyt that is going on in the world, and trying to become a better person professionally and personally is where I'm at in life, so the album content is made for someone like me. My only criticism is on a couple songs is flow was too show and it felt like he was talking instead of really flowing. But overall it was a really good album imo.
is this a circle-jerk or can we review artistic output?

I can relate to the mature themes he ATTEMPTS...but I don't count attempts. I count points on the board.

This dude's execution NEVER delivers. NEVER.

Cole gets more praise for aiming to send a message instead of actually fukking doing it.

Thats how low the bar is right now.

I thought this nikka was being serious with that tribe shyt:mjlol:
yeah I'm atcq fan but whoever produced this album deserves to get cancer and dies.
Dudes completely failed with the bebop scales or altered scales and polyrhythms.

It's an OK album if you're just a fan and not a musician.
