Although what J. Cole said technically IS a diss against short people, it's pointless to be mad about it because it's human nature. Since there is no inherent meaning to anything people give their own meaning to things - and this is human nature too.
In reality, since resources are limited, people are going to compete for them. When you at the "top" you have access to a lot of resources and when you at or near the "bottom" you have access to few resources.
To establish themselves on the social hierarchy people test one another, compete against one another, attempt to dominate one another, diss each other, etc. to see where they rank - and this is what J. Cole was doing in the diss song.
And that's it. Like... short brehs, there's no point in getting mad. Seriously. J. Cole isn't perfect. He can be dissed too.
For example, he could be dissed on the fact that he's a bullshytter, his hair is trash, his teeth are fukked up, he's skinny af, and he's a smart-dumb nikka.
