I think I need to write an article on this because people don't get what I've been saying when I tell them that their are no casual fans anymore. There are only stans. Stans will cop whatever you put out as long as it is what they fell in love with you for in the first place. It doesn't matter what people outside of that think or what critics think (and I think the critics are always more right than stans). That is why critiquing an album is pointless. No one is actually sitting there starting off judging production, instrumentation, lyrics, flow, etc. They are first looking for the personal connection (even if they don't realize it) and then they're getting to all that other stuff. As matter of fact, that stuff will only come up if people aren't stans of you. Album reviews only matter for award season and even that is now just a popularity contest (Grammys don't act like the Oscars). Beyonce had the highest grossing tour of the year with two barely top 40 singles and still grossed something like 240 million off of only 49 shows. You guys are behind when you're talking about "what's hot." People like Young M.A. are hot for group settings and parties, but no one cares about her backstory, she didn't give them "her." People want heroes and something to connect to. All the biggest stars sell for that reason. The era of buying an album for a hot song are over. All hit singles do is get people to open up the book like Cole himself said.

FYI, this is dope for Cole, but he dropped in December with no new big songs out. The test is next week.

I been saying this.

You want longevity? Make people care about you when the music cuts off.

We've already heard this beat/sample get played out with Bryson Tiller's song... Now mainstream media push this as a continuation to that sound. Just watch...
:snoop:
Song has the most commercial appeal on the album.

an album that sold this well in the streaming age one song is going to get streamed more heavily than others and its usually the one that has the most bounce

Yup. What's crazy is that you would think Cole fans would be up on Tiller and tired of that shyt.

Of all the weird things that are said and done on The Coli, the one thing I'll never understand is the hatred for Cole. :dwillhuh:

Seriously, why are people trying to discredit him in every single thread? It's like his success causes you guys to :damn: and :sadbron: like you won't be able to pay your bills this month.

Maybe you'd understand it if you actually read and thought about posts instead of dikkriding. It's pretty clear that people don't like Cole because his music is pedestrian and shyt. Multiple receipts have been provided for this over the years. Catch up instead of bringing up irrelevant 'rent money' while you aint getting a dime from Cole and possibly in the same can't-afford-rent situation.

It's a mystery to me why you're still allowed to post here.

Nobody's dikkriding Cole except the people posting the same shyt in every thread about how they're not fans, but can't keep themselves from being in threads about him, yourself included.

But you would know all about that considering the fact that you've been choking on Kendrick's jock strap for at least a year and a half. :umad:

stop playing the fake martyr role. Dude has an album out so obviously he will be discussed. He criticized other rappers as part of corny promo and his stans bought it but somehow they can't take what they dished. Whose cock was Cole choking on when he decided to diss nikkas outta nowhere?

Under normal circumstances, no one really discusses Cole like that. When he's getting the thread-per-30-minutes during off-album cycle that Drake gets, then you might have a point about overhating :umad:

Interesting how you bring up the stans getting bothered when there were people who didn't like Cole and hated the fact he called those rappers out. I guess being competitive is a myth these days.

And no one's playing martyr either. It's just funny to see so many people bothered by Cole and reminding us constantly how much his music puts them to sleep.

maybe. but you're talking to the wrong guy. I liked that he called out wack/fraud nikkas. But I also feel like Cole can be criticized just as easily. :yeshrug:
