Jackson, MS water system is failing, city will be with no or little drinking water indefinitely

In the not too far off future it will be plagued with heatwaves, severe weather events and flooding that will make today's climate catastrophes seem miniscule. And due to decades of Republican policy the infrastructure will completely collapse. Katrina is a preview of what we can expect on a yearly basis. Massive amounts of poor black people stranded with no where to go.

So where should Black folks move to?

lead pipes are a nationwide problem they reported that Newark's drinking water had more lead in it than Flint (Flint's water was more fukked by chemicals though) but they got a lot of people used to drinking bottled water so there's that.

Moving back there is moving back in time.
These cities are all run and controlled by like 5-10 old rich from slavery money families and they don't care bout nothing but keeping their pockets fat and nothing gets done in the city without their approval. The mayors aint shyt but placeholders, when they want something all they do is lean on who they need to. Thats what these dudes don't know or won't tell you. And no amount of numbers will change that.
The states are run by complete imbeciles on all levels, and whatever backwards dumb ass thinking they have is gonna be how the city goes.
At least in bigger cities on the west up north they're starting to be run by companies who help more people, down here it's a small few getting paper making decisions.

You can add the Southwest to that mix too. If they can't resolve their water issues they're fukked. And its concerning that its one of the fastest growing regions in the country. It will be a disaster.

Its a tragic irony that blacks are moving from the midwest to the south for a better standard of living. I get the appeal. My people stay down there and they love it. I love going down there too. The weather is usually nice, most people are friendly, and there parts that have a thriving black professional class. But underneath the surface there are troubling issues that will come to a head when climate change really hits the fan.

And you're right, once the country starts taking climate change seriously and the dangers of it become more apparent we'll see a massive push to get more people to move to the midwest, which will largely exclude black people.

-Access to DC money/power
-Has some of the most affluent black communities
-White people in MD aren't as wicked
-Better education systems
-Higher paying jobs
-Places like Baltimore and cheaper parts of PG County can be transformed if resources are invested into it
