Longevity lol. Lets not act like Kobe didn't average 30/6/5 in the playoffs during his prime on +4 league average efficiency. All while playing in the hardest conference ever and without another top 75 guy on his team..
I disagree with Steph knocking on top 10 after another chip though. I think he's already top 10 along with KD. And yes. This does mean I don't have Wilt nor Russell in the top 10
I think Kobe had one of the longest prime's ever, from '98 to '13. His early prime for me was 1998-03, mid-prime was 2003-08, his late prime was 2008-13...
So the way I define his prime, for the duration of it he was 27.4/5.7/5.1 on 455/334/840 splits. He basically had the same exact numbers in the postseason and one of my criticisms of Kobe is he just wasn't able to elevate his game tremendously higher from regular to postseason the way other guys did...
You're basically talking about his numbers during the Comeback Kobe run, which I don't think anyone disagrees is one of the strongest individual accomplishments ever. That run is what really elevates him to Top 10 status, without he's not viewed at that level...
Gasol didn't make the official Top 75 but he certainly has an argument for it, and as currently stands is comfortably one of the 100 greatest players ever. I could make the argument for Gasol as one of the 10 greatest 4s ever, or one of the 15 greatest 5s, regardless of him being somewhat snubbed from NBA75. Kobe was certainly the primary reason for that run but Gasol was an integral piece and deserved go be remembered as such...
You don't include Wilt or Russell so basically your Top 10 isn't Top 10 ever, it's Top 10 since 1980? Lmao neither KD or Steph are Top 10 but KD is knocking at the door and Steph isn't all that far behind...
