Which is why most of them don't know anything and shouldn't be catered to.
True fans of basketball don’t care about nerd stats. Just the honest truth, either try to work for the league/ team or kick back and enjoy the show.

I really believe this whole “stats guys ruined basketball” stems from insecurity of people who are too lazy or stupid to understand the mathematical concepts that drive why certain basketball choices are made.

:francis:

perfect example right here. This is a baseball guy who probably never watched basketball seriously growing up but now he acts like he a real ball head because stats allow him to enter the conversation. I mean this guy was out here the day after Kobe died talking him down talking about math and analytics and shyt :snoop: these stat nerds don’t respect tha game nor the players except for the PER warriors

Yeah, I am.

Ask Steven Adams

There’s a reason Houston got rid of his ass too

I’m stupid because it’s widely known AND VIDEO PROOF of these nikkas literally boxing everyone out just so Russ can grab boards :heh:

Not gonna even bother looking for the videos, go do your own googles clown
Houston didn’t get rid of him, he asked to be traded because Harden told him that he was leaving. There was a thread on this.

Cool.

Seems like they sure as hell didn’t ask for him to stay.

How many Triple doubles was he getting in Houston tho. Real question, I don’t really follow dude like that

He only played 57 games with half of them injured and fighting COVID. He averaged 27-8-7 on 47% shooting. He still had 8 triple doubles, with Harden controlling the ball.

everytime i watch westbrook, hes blatantly chasing a triple-double, and doing a bunch of cheap chit to get there. this is the MAIN thing he gets criticized for. yet, jamal crawford doesnt even address this in the video. why even make a video about this, if youre not gonna tackle the main gripe that people have??

you dont have to be a stat nerd. the thing is, fans have no filter while ballplayers dont like to keep it all the way real about their peers.

and yes, to average say 20/5/5 on any level, let alone the NBA, is a great thing. but when people get corny and act like he aint stat-padding his way to triple-doubles, thats some bullchit.

its alot of stuff these players dont keep ti real about, and doofy fans follow behind them like "bu bu but he plays in the league".

I usually don't judge Westbrook to harshly cause to do what he does is hard as shyt much less to do it four different times like he has. But for the 95 percent good that he brings to the table it's the 5 percent which is usually a turnover or bad shot or wild drive to the hoop that causes him to get underrated and not acknowledged enough as the all time great that he is. Many (and i am one of them) criticize him for not deferring to KD more while they were together but that also falls on KD for not DEMANDING the ball more or the coach CLEARYLY stating that KD was to be the number 1 option at all times. Not to mention KD had some duds in the playoffs too just like Russy did. I've often thought he would have been better just focusing on scoring but the Thunder never found another point guard good enough to make Russ a 2 guard. But his shooting numbers looking at his year in Houston would have been much better over his career if he had played with a better playmaker then himself.

What are nerd stats?

You mean, every type of number/metric used to discuss a game that's based on.....numbers?
Game is based on skills and entertainment for fans. Nerd numbers are for try hards and time wasters. They would have to pay me for some of the busy work that some of y’all geeks be doing for free.
