He still has that motor, and for the most part, his athleticism remains.
The problem is, the actions in which he chooses to exert energy for. Hunting for box score stats to trick Casuals into thinking he's actually out there doing something instead of playing the game. If he used his energy for actually playing defense, all that triple double shyt wouldn't exist. He's resting for shyt that ain't gonna show up in the box score, and then going all out for shyt that will show up in it.

Russell Westbrook is the GOAT of the box score and highlights era. A lot of people who have been praising him for years are watching him play full games for the first time and it shows. He ain't lost shyt athletically. This is who he is.
...just PASS IT TO MELO coming off the screen, he was open AND he had the hot hand in the 4th. There was absolutely NO REASON for him to jack up that shot....but of course, that's what he does. Jack up BAD shots. And I'm a HUGE Russ supporter....but that nikka STAY gunnin'.

They understand how good you have to be to even make a roster, earn playing time, get on the floor and even be able to put any stats on a stat sheet
so they're gonna respect what it takes to be able to put up the stats Westbrook has, but at the same time, maybe they're not able to be as removed from it and at times can't see that those stats don't mean as much when it's not helping you win
