There is truth to this. However, that is kind of what happens in the playoffs. Not that FT don't count as points, but defensive players are given more leeway which leads to fewer fouls being called. I think that is the main issue that reasonable folks have. The greatest of the great, not only match their regular season production in the playoffs, they surpass it.

I said it before in some other Harden thread but dude was my fav player (along with KD & Steph) pre-D’Antoni. He’s one of the most skilful iso players in the league and he had a good midrange game. But since D’Antoni he’s been just spamming step back 3’s and exploiting the system for free throws.

I said all that to say he was impressive last night can’t front he was still spamming 3’s but at least he was hitting them at an efficient rate.

I don't give a fukk about how many (or how little, in this instance) free throws he shot - he still relies on them to fuel his rhythm more than any star in the modern era - one game doesn't disprove that.

All I'm pointing out is, players of today are measured and judged unfairly by the majority of this board; the same scale y'all don't use to judge players of the past. It's not about "discrediting" the past, it's about using some cotdamn sense and holding all players, from every era, to the same standards. Not picking and choosing based on your preference or childhood memories.
