I finally checked it out and its cool but tbh there are people who do what she does better then her. SZA did it with better song writing, Connie Bailey Rae does as well with better song writing. The way I describe it is that light and fluffy kind of soft music. I'm not the biggest fan of it usually but it's something to chill to in the morning, I can appreciate it and she has some talent. With that said maybe she will make something better down the line but as it stand this was a solid album, not good or great but solid.
She a lil over hyped though imo.
Finally got a chance to listen to their album and I thought it was cool. I expected better then that but it was okay for a debut. I'm not mad at it and that was just off one listen so maybe things will change.
Yeah I got no problem with that. It ain't like I think Kali Uchis is all that great. I just thought her album was solid. I agree SZA is better and I probably prefer Sabrina Claudio and Alina Baraz. Uchis kind of goes for the Amy Winehouse sound which can be fun and nice at times. I'm really starting to get into R&B and everyone I've mentioned I been listening to a lot. Tomorrow Leon Bridges drops, I'm expecting that to be great.

Another so-so album from Janelle. She is the type of artist that you cant put in a box, which is fine, but you need to have better execution. Album is all over the place.
Some of these songs just dont connect. Sorry.
To me...its clear the critical acclaim is from her coming out, which...i'm not sure how people didn't know she was a lesbo. Whatever.
ArchAndroid still her best by far.

Not really. Album is amazing and critically acclaimed as well as well as liked by majority of people (aside from The Coli). And More critically acclaimed than most of the albums y’all be going up for here.

He's definitely stanning but stans never admit when they stanning. Half the posts in this damn thread are by him, many times he is replying to himself or has multiple posts in a row. If someone don't like her album, he gets defensive, that's what stans do. Apparently the only opinion that matters is his and official reviewers.
I don't even look at reviews anymore, most them by white people who have zero taste in music. Also knew this would get great reviews based on the fact that it is feminist and has a message. Honestly most of the message it is trying to send I just find corny, like the entire song screwed.
