You can't say it's about AVERAGE sales per album to discredit jay then say the year goes to DMX cause he dropped two albums. The AVERAGE sales of those 2 albums is less than jay z sold with his 1998 release. Jay dropped the biggest hip hop album in 98 (Lauren hill is rnb). The year goes to him for having THE BIGGEST ALBUM.

If you are scrapping the idea of average sales and just looking at totals (seeing as you are doing this for DMX dropping 2 albums) then your whole argument against jay collapses.

Jay z had the biggest selling rap album of 98. Therefore he is MVP according to the logic of looking at average sales per album. Biggest hip hop album of 98 = jay z

but dmx debut album in 1998 outsold vol2. and then Dmx dropped his sophmore album the same year and it debuted #1(went 4xPLAT) only rapper besides pac to have two albums debut #1 in a calender year.

but jay z was the "mvp" of 1998 :heh:

Don't even argue bro..... Everybody knows Dark and Hell is hot is a certified classic along the lines of Get Rich... ON TOP of the crazy sales... Then Dropped another disc the same year.. it was crazy.

DMX Dropping 2 albums in 1 year is the equivolent of Dieon Sanders winning a title of baseball THEN coming and winning 1 in Football in the same season.. Rare epic shyt.

So, lets just see where we're at so far:

-FACT - Biggie / Pac Dominated the 90s sales
-FACT - Eminem / Nelly Dominated the 2,000's sales
-FACT - Biggie, Pac, Eminem, 50, Luda, Nelly have more #1 hits than him
-FACT - Jay-Z sold the most albums only 1 year in his career, 2006 (Kindom come, worst album, top 5 players injured: 50, Kanye, Eminem, Wayne didn't drop albums)
-FACT - Eminem is the best selling rap artist of all time
-FACT - Biggie, Pac, Eminem average more platinum plaques per album than Jay
-FACT - Jay-Z only has the 16th best selling rap album of all time, Biggie, 2pac, Eminem all have albums above him
-FACT - Eminem, Lil Wayne, 50 and almost Kanye, have all sold 1 million in their first week.. Something Jay-Z has openly said he wish he could do (but NEVER will)
-FACT - Lil Wayne has the most hits on the Billboard hot 100 of any rapper ever
-FACT - While Big / Pac were alive, Jay-Z never went better than platinum... He went Multi the year after Biggie released his last album.

Wikipedia does not dictate what a hip hop album is. Jay had the biggest hip hop album in 1998. There's his ring.

LMAO @ these nikkas being up in arms... hilarious.

I honestly don't have time to respond to these books yall writing from all types of directions....

Only thing I can say is: MY ORIGINAL POST IS 100000% FACT..... So, no matter how you slice it, thats my story and a fact will NEVER change.

One thing I read while skimming, that biggie didn't "run" 1994....

Listen numb nuts: I'm not about to go dig and see WHAT DATE a rappers album was released on (december) and all that shyt... I had some time on my hands when making this thread, but I'm not getting PAID for this shyt. And NONE OF US KNOW exactly how much albums somebody sold in a given year, we just know when the goddamn album was released and the final sales.

If ready to die was released in late 1994, I can easily say biggie ran 1995... 1994, 1995... fukk is the difference? The BOTTOM LINE IS, Jay didn't run ANY YEAR, lmao...

No matter if all the albums I listed OVERLAP to the next year, whatever... No way around it, Jay ran NO YEAR.... His best shot was 1998, but DMX drop Dark and hell is hot in May and Flesh of My Flesh later that year and it was a WRAP (not to mention Lauryn hill)

Yall nikkas truly tried, it's commendable...... Jay is still a top 6 rapper of all time regardless of ANYTHING, and that in itself is high praise.

But again, huge difference between Larry Bird and Michael Jordan.... If your feelings are hurt because of THAT, thats what it is.... still won't take away the FACTS I've laid out.

Nobody said you had to look up shyt I looked it up for you and destroyed your argument, just say "thank you for setting me straight NotSoft:krs:" and keep it movin, and I didn't have to remember shyt to remember Bone Thugs n fukin Harmony or Master P nikka:snoop:....It just proves your lapse in memory...and the other shyt u choose to throw out destroys your argument....and I see you ain't have shyt for that 2001 argument I made so I guess you'll pretend to be busy now:laff:.

But yeah try desperatley to ignore everthing to push your agenda:heh:...talkin about you the devils advocate?the devil is a damn lie:childplease:

You lay the info out for these nikkas and they so ungrateful:heh: "bu bu but I'm not gon look up WHEN a nikkas album came out:why:"...as if that shyts irrelevant,ya memorys off bro,I simply showed it to you.
