Since we're rebuilding from ground up why not take a shot on an unknown coach and not some retread who will be gone in 3 years. Are there any young OCs who have not been a head coach yet that's hungry and willing to build. Someone like a pep hamilton, anthony lynn, darrel bevel. just something different.

Heard we're looking at possibly Sean McVay, Washington's OC.

Not bad, guy is young but that offense is pretty good

shyt dude is only 30. Don't know if he can commend the respect of a locker room with vets

tomlin was what 34 when he started at Pitt. I think as long as we're winning guys will rally.

don't really see the reason why baalke would try to knowingly undermine chip. he had to understand it was his(baalkes) last chance and if fired he isn't gonna be a gm for a long time. sabotaging himself is just plain dumb.
Honestly I think he thought he could get away with another coaching firing, dudes ego was way too big

I don't think he's that dumb. He had to know he was the last remaining scapegoat Jed had. Everyone knew it.

Unless Mcdaniels is bringing Tom Brady with him, I don't think he'd do anything better than Chip/Tomsula. People forget he was the OC in St. Louis after he was fired from Denver. That team averaged 12.1 ppg...and that team had Brandon Lloyd at receiver.

If I had to choose between McDaniels and Shannahan, I'd pick Shannahan because at least you can see that he has had a direct impact on the Falcons offense and has made it better going into year 2. With New England, it doesn't matter who you stick in as OC or QB for that matter, the system is designed to get the most out of every player.

I honestly don't even remember dude's stint in St. Louis, but 12 ppg is awful.

Out of the names mentioned. A Wolf/Shanny tandem would be the most intriguing

I don't seen how anybody looking for a HC gig that HAS OPTIONS, would choose SF. The candidates that Jed wants will turn the job down, he'll then hire someone that is just as desperate as he is and will spin it as if that's the guy he wanted all along. The new HC of the 49ers will be an average joe. Comin in and winning at a record rate will not secure you're job, neither will losing a lot, you have to be average with no personality. A puppet similar to Tomsula but with slightly more experience. Or maybe a washed old timer
we need to start looking at these college coaches again. somebody like my mans at penn state who turned that shyt right around and got them to a rose bowl

or charlie from texas... he's gone right?

or some damn body from alabama or ohio state or clemson

cause i don't see anyone in the nfl right now that's worth a damn nor will want to come if they are

if he could get harbs out of there after his success and still have a job... he had to imagine the only way to save his job was to blame it all on chip and hope he got one more year with the right coach

it didn't work... but he had no other cards to play.. he knew it was over

nah thats illogical. if he wanted to blame chip hed delegate some control to him. how you finna blame someone who isnt responsible for personnel at all ? nah baalke is a lot of things, but he isnt dumb. this was his last chance, cant blame it on the coach third year in the row when team went from 8-8 to 2-14

So you think chip just flat out lying?

I'm asking. I mean it's possible. I just don't see why you'd hire a coach like chip then not even give him the option to draft the qb he wanted
