So you think chip just flat out lying?

I'm asking. I mean it's possible. I just don't see why you'd hire a coach like chip then not even give him the option to draft the qb he wanted
lying about what ?

heres what I think: baalke told jed, Im handling all personnel and will take blame if chip fails.

I actually thought this was pretty clear- right away I knew chip wasnt gonna get many if any personnel decisions. chip most likely was aware of this. like many, I speculated chip has very limited power in terms of personnel in draft and roster building.

baalke predictably failed, admitted it and in my eyes didnt try to blame it on chip.

I dont really see where this 'baalke tried to blame chip' narrative is coming from, aside from the desire to shyt on baalke one more time. I mean, sure, but lets operate within facts here.

With what we know about Baalke. It's no wonder Kap wanted nothing to do with him. Makes it crystal clear now. When Kap leaves we gonna hear some juicy tidbits.

I don't think he will, just think we'll get some more stories and they may not even come from him.

lied in this article

Chip Kelly seems to know he’s done as an NFL head coach, and he seems to be OK with that — especially if it means he won’t have to deal with office politics.

Kelly told Jay Glazer of FOX that he’s happy to be an assistant coach in the NFL after failing as a head coach in Philadelphia and San Francisco.

“I’ll go be an offensive coordinator somewhere,” Kelly told Glazer.

Glazer said he also learned from talking to Kelly that issues with fired 49ers G.M. Trent Baalke were a major problem for Kelly in San Francisco.

“For weeks and weeks and weeks, he’s known that Trent Baalke has been trying to undermine him and get him out,” Glazer said.

This is the second report in as many days that paints Baalke as an obstacle in the path of Kelly’s success, the first being the report that Kelly wanted to draft Dak Prescott and Baalke refused. In fairness to Baalke, it should be noted that we haven’t heard his side of the story. But suffice to say, it’s unlikely anyone is going to hire either Kelly to be a head coach again, or Baalke to be a G.M. again.

glazer said the bolded.. but i doubt he's out here just making up shyt. and i doubt it was only kelly who gave him this idea

it seems like kelly backed it up what he already knew by saying saying baalke was as major issue standing in his way

I think that shyt got refuted already, but it also can be thought of as in baalke refused to give chip personnel control. but then, I'm fairly sure that happened even before the hire and chip knew well.

Again, no logical point for baalke to go against chip. Chip doing well was one and only baalkes ticket out. If your job depends on a team project you don't sabotage the project by undermining the project team lead.

Plus chip being content with an oc job to me means he's checking his own ego, and if he really felt like baalke fukked him, now would be the best time to let it all out, since baalke is THE goto scapegoat now ( that also ironically keeps heat off jed)

They're supposed to be finding a pair that can work together, so I'm assuming if they fall in love with one side first, they might have that candidate meet with the short list on the other side and help make the decision...that would be logical outside bringing in a tandem.
