I honestly think our qb situation is a win win in terms of telling us where we stand even if we lose in the process

If gabbert struggles we can see what kaep can do at this point with a good oline.

If gabbert balls out(very slim chance) ... Well that should be good against tough teams unless our d completely shyts the bed

Also I don't really believe in the 'stand by your guy' mantra. I believe in competition and 'the best guy currently plays' mantra. I think you need to have an able backup for any position in any sport to help push the starter. This is why I'm not as down on gabbert as some are. He was utter trash in Jax but last year he was serviceable enough. That should push Kaep.

Again, I'm a big believer in competition and a big opponent of starters feeling complacent because of job security

Let's remember week 17 Gabs through for 354 yards against this defense

And they will be missing Janoris Jenkins this year too

I think we'll win convincingly

Rams d looked like shyt in preseason. But then again Broncos d didn't look all that amazing in preseason either :manny:

As usual, we just need the run game going and do well against the run. Rams wrs are ass and their qb isn't a world beater to put it lightly

No one said these guys don't need to compete.... But just don't let this get to the point where it's a distraction.

Ala "if you don't show this you DEFINITELY losing your job and may get cut"

I know Brady, Manning, Breas, Rodgers, Big Ben don't "compete".

Hell not even Romo, Stafford, Cutler, Matt Ryan, Tannehill, Flacco, "compete" nor was Bridgewater pre injury

I'm sure the year Eli had his worst year they wasn't looking at him like "you gonna have to prove yourself worthy"

So don't get me wrong I feel where you coming from and get what you saying..... But let's not over rate that too much cuz we both know Gotdamn well Rodgers never "competed" against a Matt Flynn or Brady against a Cassel.:mjlol:

Well with a consistently elite qb it's hard to do, just like with any positional player who is consistently elite. Revis isn't competing with his backup either.

But guys like Stafford Ryan Eli Flacco etc that tier definitely should be challenged. And the reason they aren't is the same reason l hate the league for force feeding us qb ad a position of power

A qb is on a team that goes deep and gets to sb or sb win, suddenly qb has indulgence from any competition. This is nonsense, no such thing happens to a corner or wr, even those who were drafted really high. They are judged by their performance. Hence the reason I've never liked the term 'franchise qb' - all it means that he's your guy no matter what. That's a problem, especially if the guy is not playing well.

in all honesty i think chip is making major changes, look at modkins he doesnt fit what chip has done in the past

i think were going to see a lot of power blocking especially on the right side. im just assuming but i think hes smart enough to realize he needs to make adjustments and finally he'll have a mobile qb

So apparently neither Chris Davis nor Reaser practiced this week :dwillhuh: we really have both our slot corners hurt ? :snoop:

i always assumed ward would be on austin no matter what. reaser did practice today so i wouldnt expect davis to be active, its not a killer because ward can move inside and you can put robinson or johnson outside

I think Gabbert blows an acl late 2nd quarter.

But for real on Defense the obvious focus needs to be Todd Gurley, I hope them boys ready for that. Make whoever their QB (forgot his name) have to air it out
