they arent going to pass up making money just to "keep the black man down"...
Never underestimate white supremacy. Conscious music was popular and making money at a time. It is not anymore because they made it that way. Marketing controls everything, and even more now in the algorithm era

You are giving white people too much credit.

ive been around a lot of white people in elite social classes...
they arent all geniuses.

white people arent a monolithic group that work together in tandem.

re: conscious music making money...
are you talking about the early 90s during the X era?

The "streets" wasnt bumping that shyt like that...
it was basically hip hop heads and white boys.

Im old enough to remember white folks (and some older black groups) trying to stop the violent and raunchy music and black folks calling them racist for doing so...
now yall are saying these same white people want this perverse music to spread?

Jeezy isn't the same dude he was 20 years ago. He's grown up.

That's what people refuse to accept. That reminds me of that Jay-Z line where he says, "People look at you strange, sayin' you changed, like you worked that hard to stay the same".

It's almost like people get mad when they see these dudes grow up and change the way they think. We've seen enough interviews with the vultures admitting that they make money off of these dudes speaking on killing each other. They don’t care about the community because they don’t come from it. It's not their community. They got people brainwashed into thinking it's cool to clown the older rappers for speaking out against sh*t that we all know is true. It's wild.

Dude ain't supposed to be damn near 50 speaking the same way he did 20 years ago. He's changed the way he's supposed to. There's no way people are this dumb.

its 2025 and folks still believe in the "record labels force black men to make vulgar music" conspiracy :beli:

The people want violence so it makes money...
its that simple.

Jeezy is just trying to come off as deep talking to a preacher.
If you still believe that the imagery they choose to highlight, is in your best interests, then I wish you the best lol

C Delores Tucker was right :yeshrug:

images

C Deloris Tucker was not a real example of moral standard. We need to stop with this false narrative that she was. She got exposed when Interscope sued Time Warner and C Deloris Tucker for interfering with their contractual arrangement. Tucker was a puppet for the right wing conservatives at Time Warner who failed an attempt to position herself getting into the music business in the guise of speaking out against gangster rap. Tucker was willing to do a deal with the Suge Knight to position herself, which means she was willing to compromise herself in order to get in the music business.
