I qualified it by commenting on the potential quality of the package offered...but yeah, if we can get a solid collection of pics, why wouldnt it have the potential to do so? The point is to not get attached to a corner, when we have so many areas of need, and so little young talent. Im thinkin Hershel Walker type deal here....

I just want a new era. This squad makes me violently ill.

so is revis part of the solution or problem?

if you think he's part of the solution by getting draft picks, just look at the jets previous drafts, haven't been able to draft well since mangini left. wilkerson the exception.

That's my point.

I trust NO ONE within this braintrust to pick good players. So the only certainty I'm leaning on is the DB coming off a knee injury moreso than the Jets out of all teams being THAT team to do that.

its more about locking in big money at a position that doesnt generate points..

Coples is that dude though...but that's it.

Dudes are REALLY trusting the Jets to do well with a bounty of picks?

It's as if they're automatically marrying having multiple picks trading Revis to future success, failing to take into account the Jets history of drafting shytty players.

The Jets drafting shyt is one of the biggest certainties in league history....yet cats want to trade one of the lone certainties that's produced against that history.

:heh:

Its incredible to me.

You know you cant say that tho. We cant not do the prudent thing because of past blunders by our former worthless GM. Thats becoming a hostage of the past. Football has too many positions to fill, and a great draft can turn around fortunes in an instant. I love Revis. You love Revis, but you know Im right. We gotta let him go, bruh. This squad as constituted is finished, and we cant hang on to an aging corner coming of an ACL injury, when there is a potential significant market for him.

Dog....wearing Jets green for 30 years...and you're going to tell me I can't say that?

I'd fee the same way if it was Wilkerson in this position. I felt the same way when they traded Abraham.

The problem with revis is, u have him and what QB does is go to the other side. When revis was healty and they had cromatie, QBs had cromatie looking like a 7th round rookie when he is a pro bowl calibur corner and he showed it this year when revis wasnt there. He was getting raped damn near every play when it was him and revis. Thats the problem. I think a player like revis only works when u have two shut down corners. And the only shut down corners in this league imo are johnathon joseph, sherman, browner, webb, haden and peterson in upcoming years. everyone eles (tim jennings, tilman, williams, winfield ect) are corners that are playmakers and go for intos and shyt like they, they cant really go 1-1 with a corner and phase him out the whole game

I really do not understand the logic behind Jets fans not wanting to trade this dude...I get he's a fan favorite and i like dude as much as anybody else but how can you justify paying a fukking CB franchise QB money when you have the worst offensive personnel in the league? Revis is a luxury not a need...The defense can survive without him...

Jets better make that move because when Stevie Johnson puts that move on him next season...could be a wrap for the kid.

Cro getting raped? :heh:

The Jets still had one of the best secondaries in the league. The thing is, we're just NOW starting to develop a pass rush.

You want an example....look at that Broncos/Ravens game. See how Champ Bailey got exposed when Von Miller and the Broncos pass rush was shut down?

The Jets secondary with never had a pass rush and their secondary doesn't get exposed. Now that we're on the brink of having a pass rush to GO with that secondary, and we're ready to trade our best player?

:rudy:

I completely understand the frustration when it comes to the history of this franchise. We all sadomasochisitc niccas rooting for this embarrassment of an organization. That said, past failures cannot prevent someone from doing the right move in stockpiling picks for one player on a team going nowhere. Such a move could significantly shorten the length and curve of an inevitable rebuilding period. Its absolutely the right move. A move the Jets never make, lol.

@captaincharisma ....27 and comin off and ACL injury. We talkin about the NFL, where niccas turn larry holmes with the quickness.
