Wherever nikkas need to be told on
the lakers won 65 games that year and the nuggets won 54. lol there was no "choke" the lakers were better. The series was over after game 1 anyway. Phil Jackson has NEVER lost a series after winning game 1.

In game 6 the nuggets got blown off of their home court, the lakers were superior
Dumbest logic ever. Anybody can be beat. fukk regular season records. You just have to have some mental toughness, good coaching, and discipline in addition to decent talent.

They lost that series 4-2. Two of them losses were because he couldnt draw up a good inbounds play

They might have could've stole that series
I'm saying. We'll never know. All they had to do was get the ball in play to give Melo or Chauncey an opportunity to come up big. So anti-climatic from a Nuggets fan perspective.

I love how expert opinion seems to look at things in a vacuum...

We have a league with Durant on the Warriors & Lebron's Cavs hitting a stride.

The chances of Melo winning in a league with those teams are already slim. Add the fact that he's literally had to carry a pisspoor team on his back for half a decade...

Outside of the forced trade to NY, I don't see how Melo's performance or decisions had anything to do with his ability to get a chip.

I would agree with the "surrounding lack of talent" rationale if not for 2 things...

1. That forced mid-season trade from Denver to NY that disrupted the roster depth. His fault

2. Taking 130 Million from the Knicks knowing how bad they sucked when could have opted to go to much more talented teams for less. His fault.

His inability to exercise patience in scenario 1 and sacrifice money scenario 2 has always made me question his true desire to win.

Proof? Look at his efficiency numbers. Melo teams are built for him to take all the shots and have everyone else play defense/rebound etc. Im saying he's not nearly a good enough/efficient enough scorer to play that way.

Ever think that maybe Carmelo's efficiency isn't that high because of who he's playing with, rather than management purposely constructing teams around him chucking shots?

PS: Carmelo led the Knicks in rebounds and assists last season.
Again:russell: I'm not saying this was an all-time team but the Nuggets 2008-09 team were good enough to win the title. Melo had Billups (better than any current Knick not named Melo easily), JR (immature, streaky shooter), Kenyon (intimidating if undersized defensive anchor and good finisher at the rim), Nene (inconsistent but capable big man), Kleizas (solid scorer off the bench), and Birdman (decent rebounder and good shot blocker). Easy to be dismissive of this talent now but back then they were good enough to give the would-be champion Lakers fits. Stop trying to act like these nikkas sucked.

Yeah, that team was really good, but it still would have been a sizeable upset had they beaten that Lakers team. The Lakers were just better. And besides that team, name a single team he's ever been on that's legitimately been good enough to win it all.

Yeah he had the opportunity to go to Chi City or Miami that off season, both of which probably wins the Finals with him there

That team was his best opportunity. :francis: I credit Chauncey for his leadership and playmaking in transforming that team into a contender. Before they were just a meandering team--would make the playoffs but would most certainly make a quick exit. I think there could have been more opportunities but health became an issue and then Melo decided he wanted to play elsewhere.

So wanting to get his worth is his fault? :heh:
Players taking cuts is the dumbest shyt ever. Owners got plenty bread look at Gilbert, look at how much championship teams spend

Couple of those Denver teams were good enough to win the title. Boeheim just copping pleas for Melo. :francis:

No, they were not because it was already proven Karl teams lack interior toughness and length in the frontcourt.
Which are integral to winning a title in the NBA.
Karl creates small ball teams with no idea of interior defense.
