It is NOT that confusing...

You don't need to put all that weight on your vertebrae and knees to get a good leg exercise...You can get strong legs by doing wall squats, running (bare feet is better), and pistol squats...Also leg press is safer than squatting...

Pistol squats are great for balance, core strength, coordination, mental focus...

Weightlifting squat is good for gaining mass...But at some point in life, all that mass becomes a BURDEN to carry around, and it is going to FCUK UP your mobility and quality of life...

I have had OVER 500 geriatric patients, and I have NEVER seen a heavy elderly man or woman moving with fluidity...They always seem to have more problems than lighter and flexible elderly people...

I was squatting 290 back in HS when my gym teacher used to bring me her favorite smoothie mix after every workout and I'd fukk her at the hotel 2 Fridays a month at the hotel.

She also got me a lakeside condo after I graduated.

I'm not saying you have to have a barbell and put weight on your back, knees etc. But I think squatting is not just a "leg exercise" that can be substituted by leg press or for "gaining mass". It's a good, healthy movement. Look at how people in societies/civilizations without chairs sit. They squat.

To be fair,alot of guys don't squat and can't hit 225 correctly,let alone 275.

God damn nikkas lie so much. From working in several gyms to working out in several different gyms for 1000s of hours over the last 10+ years, most people don't free weight squat at all and 99% of the ones that do only do half ass sissy squats just barely bending their knees
