whats wild is that the original version of the "lately" remake got x'd out by the unplugged version. i remember BET kept it alive for the remainder of the summer because they didnt play the unplugged version. i havnt seen it since. its been darn near 20 years. does anybody know what album they shot this video for? a compilation or something?

lately was on one of the original MTV unplugged albums. actually, I remember seeing it on the actual Uplugged TV show on MTV. I dont know if that album ever dropped. I certainly never had it.

btw, "diary of a mad band" is my FAVORITE jodeci album. I can basically play that one straight thru with no skips.

yea the cd, did come out. it was something like a big deal. uptown held the crown.:king: and people forget the k-ci/mary track was just as big as "lately", except "lately" was pushed as a single.

We wont see many singers like that as much because the youth dont appreciate the church anymore. Now, we get souless trash like frank ocean and you clowns are so removed from God that you actually call it soul. :laff: Its disgusting.

I'm not even religious like that, but I have to agree.

Its real bruh. There is no such thing as an elite black singer who does not have roots learning how to sing gospel music. Its a shame that that gift is then perverted to sing demonic trash. The further we get away from it the more people will say *o music isnt like it used to be * until finally we're making irrelevant pop trash with the longeveity of a gnat.

Its a shame our black people are trying to take soulless cac culture and contribute soulless music in it. Someone is actually letting talentless artists be the pioneers and the flagship artists for our culture. Frank Ocean would never be seen at the Apollo because his bytch ass would get booed off the stage for having zero singing ability. We have to do better yall and hold our music up to higher standards.
