I always like Amerie but if I’m her producer and I get a chance to work with Beyoncé I would. I think in those situations they end up giving songs that was originally for one artist to the bigger artist.

:mjlol:Naw. She's saying SHE influenced the sound that everyone ended up liking him for. She would pick his hip hop beats over his RnB beats, saying she wanted the edgier sound. So, he went back to the drawing board, and together they came up with the sound that he would blow up off of.

She was saying it in a subliminal way that you have to pick up on.
No

She said that she would pick hiphop beats, she didn’t say she picked HIS hiphop beats.

She was speaking in general and say that she was looking for a certain thing and so was she.

He didn’t go back to a drawing board. They linked up and it worked because they both were looking for what the other had.

Whether or not she’s trying to take credit, idk. She can in the way that she was a co-creator of the sound, but when it comes to producing it and putting it together all on wax, editing, putting the instrumentals together, mixing, etc., thats mostly going to be him. That is the job of the producer.

Bìtch get out of your feelings

These chicks got beat by a better artist who is a damn workers, clearly has a better team and is still at it 20 years later.

If you want, I’ll buy you an autographed Keri Hilson “Turnin Me On” thermos from eBay so you can collect those fággot ass tears.

People are so full of shyt

They don’t care they just like the grandstanding & spectacle

Beyonce is still here because people still care

:russ: People are still running with this bs narrative lol.

:to:Beyonce is responsible for every early 2000s female RnB artist failing.
She's not responsible for them failing. But it was clear that the industry was on some Highlander, "there can be only one" Pop RnB girl who had her pick of the litter when it came to songwriters, producers and budget.

The market was smaller and they'd rather throw a potential hit record to Beyonce than try to work and cultivate other artists - who were viewed as competition for the girl who was in every major Ad and magazine

Alicia Keys looked good and could credibly sit at a piano and Mariah Carey is Mariah Carey so they could eat on a major - any other Black girl trying to make their name looking good, dancing and singing poppy songs was considered competition for Bey...

The rest were left to fend for themselves and find other lanes

No you're right. The music industry is known to be a meritocracy and level playing field, especially for black women.

Then everyone turns on Drake last year for doing the same thing and steamrolling his competition

No chance Beyonce did the same thing in her heyday.... Impossible

Of course the industry is going to back the artist who is proven and can turn a profit

That's a given

Same as Whitney, Janet and Mariah dominated the 80s, 90s...while acts like Jodie W and Mickey Howard were given scraps

In addition to Alicia, Ciara, Rihanna were eating as well as Bey in the 00s, 10s

Would say Amerie biggest op was her management all things considered
