yeah...because they are so powerful that no one else in the world can become successful

:gucci:

yall really believe shyt like this?
:dahell:

Are you joking?
You think she aligned herself with Jay solely out of love?! Lmao

Listen, Bey played the game properly and is one of the examples I use when I talk to younger girls.

Bey is extremely talented and determined, and that will never be taken away from her— but that was bolstered by coming from a 2 parent household and having a dad who learned how to navigate the industry and PROTECT his teenage/20 something daughter while she was doing what she loves. She then aligned herself with a man who similar to her father.

And don’t get me wrong- Bey was a star in her own right and Jay benefited from her star power as well, but we aren’t going to play like Jay didn’t use his power and connections for EVERYONE in his camp.

Jay, Bey, Riri, Ye— that was a protected group in music because they were Jay’s umbrella (ha).

You can say what you want but Keri definitely was blacklisted because of her stupid remix about Bey, and being petty not holding the magazine with Bey on the cover on some red carpet.

Same way JLo was a star in her own right, but Diddy was involved with the beginning of her music career. She wasn’t signed to him, obviously, but he used his pull to make sure she got a good deal and had access to the right ppl.

Many times these are strategic relationships. Diddy is still a terrible guy, but he definitely helped that woman’s music career.
And because she was already a movie star, she had the power and ability to walk away from him after the club incident and pivot.

I’m in no way saying Bey is a success because Jay was spearheading her career; I’m just saying he needed a softer image in mainstream culture and she was incorporating lots of Hiphop into her solo stuff and needed some of his edge, and could use some of his cachet in the industry.

I don't get the argument here. He heavily worked on two of Amerie's albums, it's not like he disappeared after working with Beyonce. He could have given Beyonce 1 Thing lol.

Beyonce, like Michael Jackson, spends a lot of time siphoning producers and sounds. That's what you do when you're the top dog: you do whatever is needed to remain top dog. Including putting holds on beats you have no intention of using just to prevent them from going to someone else lol.

Unless he’s an in-house producer, they usually go where the money goes unless the have some undying loyalty to an artist or something.

Beyonce was just the bigger name with the bigger wallet.

So it might’ve been more of his “sound” than it was their “style”. It could’ve been the DAWS he was using at the time, the sounds he had laying around, whatever other music influenced him at the time, the studio, the label, etc.

Idk much about Rich though. He could’ve just been making beats and Beyonce picked what she liked. :yeshrug:

I don’t think it was anyones fault though. It just was what it was. Even if he was an in-house producer, they probably would’ve made him give Beyonce those beats.

Amerie, j lo, Beyoncé and rich( as a producer) were all signed to Columbia. He was the labels in house producer.

That’s why is comical when people talk about this whole situation. None of them( bey, rich, amerie) had a say so in the matter.

Exactly

Discussion should be dead right there then.

It wouldn’t have mattered if Beyonce jacked her producer or not. He if he was in-house, its basically whatever the label wants.

People are so full of shyt

They don’t care they just like the grandstanding & spectacle

Beyonce is still here because people still care

Breh if people loved Keri Hilson and Amerie so much they would support both but they love the drama and fųckery instead which is why Keri will never live that “beef” down and Amerie could’ve EASILY found other producers to work with — or cook up her own sound.

They both got a taste of the industry and realized they don’t have the chops or stamina for it. Meanwhile you know Beyonce is working like she’s goddamn Stephen A Smith on ESPN Deportes

These producers aren’t loyal unless they hitch themselves to the right wagon and run with it because they are trying to eat and don’t want their stuff being shopped to a million artists while The Dream and Hitmaka get placements

Producers work with everyone. Imagine being a producer and turning down Beyonce

Exactly my point lol. He has the right to work with whoever he wants. Instead of people saying the sound was stolen it should be Rich worked with many artists giving them the same sound

He also did some tracks for Toni Braxton back in 05 or 06. Did Toni take Rich from Amerie too?

You get it! But the ones blaming Beyonce will juelz around the answer

This! I wish it would stop coming up but every time Amerie is interviewed it comes up. I wish they would let it go

Majority of stars especially female artist had some weight behind em

Diana had Berry... Tracy's father was a big music exec

Whitney had her mother and Clive Davis one of the most powerful men in the industry

Same with Mariah who had her ex husband Tommy Mottola Sony Music exec...he was also pushing Jlo

Sure they all did some not so savory things to get their artist to the top and to protect their investments...it's a part of the business
