Because the Nets want him as their 3rd best player, a role he actually would be good in.

The writing is on the wall, the Nets want JJ, Deron, Wallace and Dwight together. Whether they can get JJ and Dwight is the big question, but the fact they aren't offering Marshon in the deal makes it pretty obvious to me that they plan to move him in a proposal for Dwight.
