Joel Embiid smirking after another 2nd round exit: "Like someone (Giannis) said its not a failure, its steps to success"

Has Giannis' quote done more harm?

This doesn't make it sound any better. That just details more of his coverup.

It may seem like because he's saying "I need to be better" that he's taking accountability, but in the very next breath he says "I can't win alone, me and James, we can't win alone". It's what folks do to absolve themselves of something, where they put forth a setup statement only to reveal their true intentions with a following one.

Keep in mind he said this earlier in the series after a loss -

Newly named MVP Joel Embiid returned to the Philadelphia 76ers lineup on Wednesday in Game 2 of their second-round series against the Boston Celtics. Embiid had been sidelined since April 20 with a sprained LCL in his right knee, and he told reporters after the 121-87 loss that the injury had a significantly longer return-to-play timetable.

"With what I have, I'm supposed to be out for, what, four to six weeks or something like that?" Embiid said. "So, I'm not going to be 100% for that whole time, or I"m not going to be fully healed for that whole time."

He was already making excuses to absolve himself of blame when the series had just begun.
Already addressed this but the line of questioning is about Harden coming back and he is a basically saying that even if he does they all have to get better. Harden simply coming back doesn’t mean they will get over the hump.

I don’t have a dog in this fight but with the context it’s fairly obvious what he meant.

This doesn't sound like a leader to me. This sounds like someone trying to absolve himself of the blame.

You’re taking bits and pieces of what he said to push a narrative. He specifically broke down the parts of his game that he needs to work on and then said but everyone had to get better. He seemed to calm about losing though like he expected it. He said they played well against the best team in the league. There’s a reason Mannix started deleting his tweets because of what people like you are doing.

Norfeast groovin…
:ohhh::patrice:Do it Pelinka

Send Vanderbilt, Cole Swider, Scottie Pippen and a 2030 draft pick for embiid

Facts, this Sixers fiasco needs to come to an end. Embiid was a born Laker then and he’s a born Laker now. He just in the wrong place with the wrong people.

With that said, he’d have to be in GOAT franchise’s “How to Win” crash course because he’s clearly a choking ass loser right now…..:ehh:

Giannis and the coli are like :blessed: steps to success! No failures here!

Even though this really wasn’t a failure as so much a choke of a hell of an opportunity

Giannis was a failure. Play in 8 seed with multiple injured players and you lose in five games??
Thats why we watch pro athletes isn’t it though? To see people play in a way we can’t right? If you consider it, they’re all pros, the best of the best, seed is just a place holder, if the game was garunteed we’d never watch
