look at the positions both fighters are in when you look at those gifs...obviously mike tyson would never lock up like that in a street fight.

For Jones to take Tyson down he's going to have to get close to him, basically putting him in range to get hit with anything Tyson can throw, and Tyson in his prime, without gloves, is knocking most people into another dimension if he hits you ONCE.

The ONLY chance Jones has is if he can take out Tyson's legs with some low-kicks, which will allow him to close distance more safely.

We gonna sit here and act like Tyson hasn't been fighting men taller than him, bigger than him, and with longer reaches pretty much his entire career??

Why are people assuming Jones is going to stand in front of Tyson and let him tee off?

Jones is going to be looking for the takedown right away. Tyson would have very little opportunity to throw any punches, let alone land.

Prime Tyson has 20lbs on Jon Jones...i dunno why people keep talkin about Jones being so much bigger. He's taller, yes. But thats it. Mike Tyson has much much more muscle mass, and a lower center of gravity which would have its own benefits in a fight if used correctly.

Nobody's saying Tyson lacks skill. He's actually very skilled, but in a street fight Jones' skill set is more useful than Tyson's.

BTW, good fighters don't just attempt takedowns out of the blue. They go for it when they see that their opponent is off balance. And wrestling isn't Jones's only tool. He's also a Muay Thai fighter.

Tyson has a split second to land something before he gets thrown to the ground. I'm not saying it's impossible for Tyson to land something. I just don't like his odds in that split second opportunity.
