A trained professional fighter vs. a mediocre Linebacker.... who did you think was gonna win?

This is a toss up to me, but I'd go with Tyson in a street fight in a close space and Jones in a cage/ring with vale tudo rules.

Being a street fight makes a difference. Example: Lee Murray (decent MMA midddleweight) kicked prime Tito Ortiz' ass in a street fight, he wouldn't have been given more than a 10% chance in the octagon if they fought at the time.

Tyson isn't heavier than Jones by much if anything. Jones cuts to 205 and is probably more like 220-225 like Tyson.

Tyson looks more brolic but I doubt he's stronger, Jones physically controlled Rashad in their fight and he "looked" stronger also and is a great wrestler.

yes it has to a point. The early UFC's. You had Boxers and all kinds of other world class stand up fighters.

Royce took them all out. No problems. There were no rules except for no biting.

Royce had absolute shyt stand up. Terrible stand up. The boxers and other fighters had didn't know what to do. it was over quick every single time.

Mike doesn't know what to do to stop a takedown, a standing guillotine, a leg pick, a greco clinch.

The only deciding factor is other people jumping in.

And of course this isn't a knock against Mike. It's for this match up only.

It's like those silly Bruce Lee VS Tyson threads. I pick Tyson there. This is real life. Bruce was too small to hurt Tyson, didn't know true takedowns or subs. etc..

There's no shame in Tyson losing to a guy who's bigger than him, has more reach, is top notch in wrestling (freestyle and Greco) and has amazing submissions.
