Lebron was boosted up off the hype

yes he’s a generational talent, but he’s been force fed to us since high school...they created the narrative of the best ever..if not for his hype, we wouldn’t be talking about him up there with Jordan...he’d be in the same regards as Duncan, Magic etc...great, greatest at their position...but not looked at as the greatest ever

Kareem does not have a real case. nikkas just read his accolades after the fact and it looks comparable. They don't see he was only a superstar level player for like 2 of the 6 rings. But on paper those 6 rings hold the same weight as Mike's. nikkas just see 6 rings, 6 MVPs, and the scoring record and think ooh that's up there with Jordan. Same reason Westbrook will look like one the the goat point guards 10+ years from now. His stats\accolades will read better than the impact he had

I remember that Slam article someone posted from the 90s with the goat ranking. They had Kareem like 5th. It's just one source but it gives an idea on the popular opinion at the time. Now decades later he has gained all this support
For me it’s Jordan, then Kareem but you can make the case. 6 league MVPs is not some easy task, not even including his dominant college career. I didn’t even know about Kareems open letter to Wilt until recently where he just shyt on him. He seemed more humble

If anything that boosts Bron's case as the GOAT. We been hyping him beyond belief since he was 16, and yet he smashed expectations. Year 19 and he's still a top 5 player in the league.

Naw that hurts lebron
The numbers, we expected

he has barely met expectations 4-6...let’s not act like Lebron hasn’t been looked at as a soft non confident loser until he won in Cleveland

Jordan is the perfect mix of so many traits that it's going to be near impossible for someone to ever be as popular as him. They'd probably have to be white. The only people I think anyone can make a GOAT case for are LeBron, Kobe or Bill Russell depending on what you value. I'm not saying I think any of those dudes are, but whatever criteria you are using I feel like only one of them dudes has to rank at the top. Mike is the best overall combination.

No we didn't. We expected him to be great, we didn't expect him to be the best player in the league for a decade plus. You know how many high school prospects we had that were touted as "the next Jordan"?

He was only looked as a soft loser before 2015 by Kobe stans and Skip Bayless.

Yep. When that player comes we'll know it pretty early. He may be 2nd though

Nobody is breaking the Jordan aura in the era of social media. As soon as people hype someone up, there will a crowd eager to tear them down. It doesn't matter how good they are, that's the times we live in.

LeBron is a beta and you an alpha huh? :mjlol:
Bron has been the leader of every team he's ever been on (even teams with MVP-level players on them, right?), led 3 different teams to titles to pull 4 Finals MVPs, supposedly wields his authority over coaches, supposedly wields his authority over GMs, has the entire league at his fingertips every time he reaches the end of a contract, helped lead the player's association, presides over a massive business empire, and controls a large charity operation.....but he's a beta.

But the Coli poster who spends his time bytching about Bron on the internet is an alpha. :russ:
