Really, Iverson changed the game way back in GTOWN. That's when people first saw the crossover in action. I remember him saying in an interview how he actually learned it from his college teammate.

Post the numbers. I would assume the numbers increased just like they have every decade in every sport. You're crediting Jordan for basic economics now?

CNN/Fortune did a great article on the "Jordan Effect" over 10 years ago. *Great info...

http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortune/fortune_archive/1998/06/22/244166/index.htm

Except during Jordan's baseball blip, Bulls apparel has been the league's top seller since 1989-90. NBA and retailing sources estimate that Jordan's jerseys account for nearly a quarter of all sales through the 1990s. Hausman and Leonard figured that Jordan was responsible for 20% of the league's gross retail sales. We granted Jordan the same percentage of gross retail sales for the years he played in since 1989-90 but smaller percentages for his first five seasons. Over his entire career, that works out to $3.1 billion. Write it down. (Subtotal: $4.33 billion.)

So what's the overall value of the Jordan Effect? As a refresher: Our equation includes Jordan "brand" products; ticket, merchandising, and television revenues; Nike stuff; Falk's windfall; and Jordan's value as an endorser. Add it all up, and what do you get?

Just about $10 billion--and still counting.

dont hate me for stating facts

but all iverson did was emulate rappers ... same shyt 99% of people are doing now

acting like an average joe only got him an average bank account

no hate its just what it was ... good player but he should have acted like a basketball player and not the young guns

LeBron Nike shoes have never sold as much as the Reebok the Answers.

nikkas was wearing Reebok the Answers like Jordans.

I have never seen anyone rock those Nike LeBron shoes.

thamk you,.....before the limited edition china red's foam bron iv's, and the highschool motif bron ii's.

nobody ever cared about bron's shoe.

i wore bron's ii amd iii's and people don't even know what they are.

people knew what ai's were and they were a reebok.

i seen loyal jordan aficionado's get ai's,....when they boight no other shoe period.

i also kids,..fukkin' white kids dressed for halloween and in the summer in chicago as ai.

bron is nowhere near ai when it comes to permeation on that level.

as a matter of fact,...when bron had out the air force one bron's,...nobody bought them and they were cosmetically superior to standard one's.

to this day i bet you won't see no one in a bron unless it has a slecial miami hotspot attached to the name.

incomparison,...ai still has a larger section in eastbay for starters.

:wtb:

you got people out here dropping $250 on LeBron shoes and selling them for twice as much.

that is only recent,......

as real talk there have only really been four must have collector bron's.

bron ii : highschool color way
bron iv : china foams only released in china
bron south beaches for the past two years.

othe than that bron's really don't have people craving them.
also,...nobody buys bron's just because either.

they are not like the highschool cool kid go to shoe at all. they are a small cult niche'.

nobody really wears bron's,....

when i walk in stores with them,..even shoe employees don't remember them.

imo,..when bron's have the best designs generally.

incomparison,..nikkaz know the answers regardless of age and most young nikkaz was not old enough to walk when ai was drafted.

they are the go to reebok,....they were the first credible reebok retro that never really came out of production.

that is how popular the ai shoe is,..period.

i also think it is the second most popular all time endorsed gymshoe behind jordan's as well....

ai was so profound a skills player.

jon thompson focused on chsnging from a frontcourt savy hof styled coach.
into a backcourt styled offense for ai,....that is how profound a player he was.
