You dont have to invent something to make it hot. AI wasnt the first, but he dam sure was one of the best at it. Classic moment when he crossed up MJ. I mean the greatest perimeter defender basketball has ever seen. And AI made cornrows hot aroudn the country. Not even gonna debate that with you. Fact is, if you dont think AI in his prime had a bigger impact on the game as far as style, and people emulating him than Bron Bron does, you are either blind or lived under a rock. Point blank. Matter fact, AI id even go to say was a bigger global name/star than Lebron was in his prime, and you'd have no way of proving me wrong.

basically.

:mjpls: @ Trip. nikka.....you got to be 18 or something.

Back in 2001, it was Jay Z & Nas, 106th & Park and Iverson.

I graduated high school in 2001. I'm well aware of how big Iverson was at the time.

It is absurd that anyone would seriously try to discredit or question the cultural impact MJ had on the NBA & basketball as well. Just asinine.

Iverson was a trendsetter second only to MJ in my lifetime.

Bron is close to AI in cultural impact, but in a different way. Bron is changing the discussion on how to define a great player in a way we've never seen before b/c he's not considered "clutch", but is still a 3 time MVP. That discussion, plus The Decision put him in the range of most influential , maybe EVER when it's all said & done

this thread is reaching :skip: levels

Jordan didn't have a cultural impact? AI neither? :what:

LeBron is the most popular player in his era but, he pails in comparison to the other two. He's kinda like how Kobe was back in the early 2000s. Great player. No cultural impact really.

Jordan still has people waiting in line for 2 days for his sneakers 12 years after retiring...:mjpls:

AI had kids wearing cornrolls, arm sleeves, tats, sneakers & thinking crossing someone up was more important than actually scoring...:aicmon:

man you're acting as if Lebron was in a right place right time scenario.

there was a reason he was the most hyped HS athlete ever and it had nothing to do with the league looking for the next Jordan.

In terms of his nike branding is what I'm speaking of.

Be honest: if Bron came out in 96, during MJ's hey day, do you think the B-level sneaker company would be more likely to outbid nike than in 04 when nike didn't have an MJ?

Bron was treated as once in a lifetime so its certainly possible.

If AI signed with Nike, where do you think he's brand would be now?

tbh his biggest impact is probably the practice presser. 20 years from now that's how ppl are going to remember him.
