I never said they are alike, I said the rangers which are owned by Dolan had no problem paying brad Richards a guy who is not even a top ten player in he league the highest salary this year.

The nhl has a hard cap and by the rangers felt loading the deal it fukked over his previous team as they couldn't afford to pay 24 mill the first two years of the contract

Only difference Houston did is backloaded the deal to screw the Knicks

Exact same with the Richards deal except it was front loaded.

Knicks could have matched and har the next two years to get under the luxury tax cap but nah

You're not getting it man.... I don't know much about NHL, but just based on common sense. The STRUCTURE of Richard's deal looks logical. You think a guy is worth the money? Pay him... and as time goes on, pay him less, as his production will probably decrease as well

The Houston Rockets deal doesn't even seem logical... HIS....SALARY....TRIPLES!!!
:leon:

That's crazy...

The only reasoning I could see is that Houston thinks he's worth more than 5 mil the first two years and want to make up for it in the third year since the CBA limits them to 5 mil for the first couple....

But WHO does that?!?! It's a freaking business

Doesn't matter Knicks are irreverent yet again, linsanity was the only reason most folks were checking for them

Now they are not even the best team in their city, capped out with selfish players none who play defense cept their center.

Felton is a scrub, and Jason Kidd will prob drive into another telephone pole

then why did they pursue Steve Nash?

Because he's obviously better than jeremy lin. The coach doesnt make roster decisions on this team.

We're gonna pretend that Woodson didnt say that though? I thought you were all about taking comments at face value :usure:

I think I understand the incessant need of people in SOHH/Coli to defend Melo. He's overweight, a narcissist, and has portrayed himself as some kind of thug in the past. The trifecta for a lot of the members here :mjpls:

Every team plays better without him as well.

A perennial loser, out of the top 5 draft picks in the 03 draft melo the only one without a ring .

Of course he said it, was it believable? No...because they had already been in pursuit of Steve Nash to be the starter.

I dont get why ppl are getting annoyed with the take that Lin doesnt fit they system the Knicks want to have...

I think its apparent the conflict of interest Melo/Lin would have created...hell it was there last season.

As someone said

They have replaced Toney Douglas, Mike Bibby, and Jared Jeffries with Raymond Felton, Jason Kidd, and Marcus Camby.

And the Knicks finished as the 7th seed (almost 6th).... where Amare was injured most of the season (and out of shape), Melo was injured most of the season even though he played (and was out of shape), Jared Jeffries was injured most of the season, JR Smith came halfway through the season, and Lin was injured at the end of the season and didn't start until halfway through...

So... where did the knicks go wrong again?

Melo & Lin went 6-1 under Woodson before Lin got hurt. The conflict of interest was the previous coach wanting to run the offense thru Lin

What's so funny? Even though it's 14 mill teams love expiring contracts if Lin doesn't work out they just flip his expiring contract to the many teams who would love a 14 mill expiring contract.

And in 2014/2015 they only have 3 guys under contract making like 6 mill total

:ehh: I'm not laughing, anymore.

So then what is the conflict of interest you're saying would have been created if they kept Melo and Lin together?

You've seen the comments...

Lin is a huge name and a brand. He isnt part of the management team that runs MSG, he went with a different agency...you dont think its true but there was a plan/strategy in place long before we even knew who Lin was on how the Knicks were going to look...Melo was always going to be the primary piece.

Lin coming out of nowhere challenged that.

I disagree with that but whatever its your opinion/conspiracy.

Let me ask you this, in terms of what he's capable of doing on the court, do you believe Lin is worth the contract that's currently constructed for him?
