That would be the same as what he's doing with saying Three Six is top 2 in terms of influence. And let's be real, Three Six is an old school group by today's standards. They debuted in the 90's. They still ain't Top 2 though.
In terms of the modern sound they are definitely up there. People on the radio today sound nothing like run DMC or NWA

This is a wild take.
I love Wu-Tang but they defined NYC rap through the runs of Jay, Nas, Bad Boy, DMX just at the very top? I could go on from there.
Who did dipset jay z roc and them all copy for their entire 2001-2004 style? Supreme clientele. What inspired it was written, reasonable doubt and life after death, cuban linx.

Ruff ryders, roc a fella, dips And even bad boy copied the wu blueprint to a t having a b and c artists under them like a factory forming these giant crews. The commission. The firm. Murder inc. Bad boy the family. All these mafia crews come from wu gambinos.

Had the million dollar videos.

One of the first groups to make a dent in euro market and make major money over there leading to then on a 5 continent tour this year with nas that no rappers in recent or far back memory have EVER done cept maybe run dmc or some shyt idk.

Meth literally had a major movie that is a classic in That same time but not influential???

rza literally scored a tarantino flick, jarmuscj flick, did a major cartoon ost and his own movie passed that time…

Their media game is untouched. The whike fashion thing starting their own stuff, they had a videogame. Its a media empire.

Thatbis literally what every rapper strives for.

Everythung these guys did in like 2001-04 wu was doing in 1995 already.

All that underground atuff in mid to late 2000s from just blaze to kanye to dilla and madlib is the rza. They tell you this thenselves.

Lets also not forget cuban 2 had 90s nyc rappers making a sequel to their classic. Thats 2010.

To pretend they werent influential because people didnt flat out copy them is infactual. To this day, with stuff like the drumless beats, the soundscapes of albums, is based on wutang.

The wu “fall off” redefinition of history is exagerrated. They are held to higher standard than everyone else cause they dropped 7 classics in a row while the more popular guys who took over dropped albums with 5 good songs and a big single.

And id dare say nwa is most influential really. Or even public enemy.

The existence of NWA is why it's a ludicrous claim to say Three Six Mafia is the most influential group in rap. And to make the claim and justify it by saying much of modern Hip Hop sounds like them is even more ludicrous. Why? Because the genre just celebrated 5 decades. There were groups that were out here elevating, defining, refining, and re-defining the genre when Three Six Mafia were still underground. That takes nothing away from the group. Yes, they are definitely one of the most influential rap groups ever. You could make a serious case for Top 10-15, but having them up there as THE most or even Top 5 is overrating them.

Why did I use NWA? They not only influenced music, but the strength of the music influenced much more. That angst, the controversy, the content, the sound, and nearly everything gave a voice to some of the greats of the genre. Not only that, they were the inspiration for making them want to rap. Sure, they only had two albums. If those were just some insignificant albums that nobody cared about, they'd be easily dismissed. Straight Outta Compton is one of the GOAT Hip Hop albums. They made music that made the government want to ban rap. When we look at what came from that group, nothing else really comes close.
