Just Blaze and Kanye West ran parallel but just Blaze sample flips were way better

As far as being a beatmaker Blaze is better imo. I'm a producer too.

Blaze sample flips are retarded IMO. Some chops he's done are literally insane.

You hear what he did to superfreak? I mean lord the chop work and creativity to come out with that beat from super freak :wow:

Might be silly to some but that's one of the greatest just outright flips I've ever heard.

Take the source material and try to make that beat yourself it's just crazy.
Yeah that superfreak flip is probably the greatest flip ever.

I use to listen to the instrumental all the time then after a year it hit me like "Oh my god the is rick james" :ooh:

It even sounded like he sampled and looped the synth too. Nothing went to waste.:wow:

But Jus did Hovi Baby... which is absolute fire... this debate is tough. :mjcry:
Yea the programming on the drums on that might be the best drum programming ever too :mjlol:

shyt is crazy. And it's not even a 4/4 loop which makes it more nuts.

The sample is also just an intro to a TLC song performed live, but you're right I loved that shyt.

Drums are so crazy on it.

In cause this is debate a few others producers can be pulled in on...

However, to come in on the half of Ye, one of first songs I think of him sampling and flipping would be his use of the Scarface opening music on his verse of Mercy.

Makes you stand up on some :damn:

Some, if not a lot, of kanye's new beats are ghost produced.

"The song was produced by Lifted, with additional production from West, Mike Dean, Mike Will Made It, and Anthony Kilhofer."
Mercy (GOOD Music song) - Wikipedia

When a producer drastically changes style, you can tell they are hiring some help.

I learned (from the coli, haha) that Kanye had ghost produced tracks. But I didn’t know this was one of them :mjcry:

3 seconds in & I hear it!!! The crazier part is that drum bit is on the actual track. Diggin in you is one of my favorite TLC songs of all time & now THIS.

Imma need a moment to process all of this & the upcoming afterwards in this thread. Imma take five and listen to I really mean it followed by some Kanye...

Edit: my bad, that’s the video version, which was the live version.. always loved that one over the album version but still I’m just :mindblown: at the moment

Great debate - I do believe just blaze is more talented and better beat maker but Kanye did seem to have a better vision of putting together projects. Just didn't do any full albums but the closest one was Saigon greatest story never told which just did like over 80 percent of it.

Kanye and just did its alright together on it. Might as well post it since they being compared. Love this joint. I think Kanye did the main beat and just did the transition at the end.

No. Fam im not even gonna argue this shyt wit u. Kanye has said it plenty of times himself. Just Blaze’s drums ALWAYS been better than Ye’s. Ye used to take drums from other producers cause he didnt like his drum programming.

that's great and i know a lot of people on here like to pretend Kanye was only alive before Graduation happened, but his drums kicked way up after that album. Just Blaze has a good ear for live drumming but his programming is like a lot of other rap producers from that time period

lifted only did the 3 note synth loop on mercy. Rest was Kanye' team except for the 808s which was Mike Will
