Just Blaze and Kanye West ran parallel but just Blaze sample flips were way better

lifted only did the 3 note synth loop on mercy. Rest was Kanye' team except for the 808s which was Mike Will
:ohhh: I’ve just found a more liking for Mike Will, his work is dope but this makes him more than just a... how can I say it?? This show me that Mike Will is a producer who has longevity. Not just a dude who will just make beats that are going to sound like 2014-now. Does that make sense?

If i had to choose one person to make a whole album with it would be just blaze. His shyt is smooth and hits perfect

Lies, this discussion was far before the "cac-friendlyness" and what does gutter have to do with anything? Is Childish Gambino rated higher than 2pac? As in house producers they were producing for the same people.

One reason to why Kanye is often rated higher is because he produced several complete projects as the greats like Rza, Dr. Dre and Primo and all the way back to Quincy have done.

Just Blaze never dropped classic albums, his shyt was more scattered and I don't think you get the same cred if you don't do that.

JB is a better beatmaker. Kanye has a more creative vision on where to go with it.

Just is clearly the better more talented beatmaker. But Kanye knows how to get the most out of the artist.

I think it comes down to personality and discipline. Kanye seems obsessive, like an orchestra conductor you might want to punch in the mouth. I can see Just getting frustrated after 2-3 takes and being like, "fukk It, my job is done here...spit the verse however you want,"...and taking Metal Gear Solid 1 off of pause.

In cause this is debate a few others producers can be pulled in on...

However, to come in on the half of Ye, one of first songs I think of him sampling and flipping would be his use of the Scarface opening music on his verse of Mercy.

Makes you stand up on some :damn:

Doubt ye actually made that beat

it's not even close, none of kanye's albums are even listenable now
the speed up soul sample was hot at the time and kanye could dig in the crates, he was never on just level

all hov's best songs are with just blaze, plus just did the bulk of production for the roc

just blaze beats still sound good after nearly 20 years, all kanye's beats sound dated, and he wasn't even making beats anymore on his second album

just blaze can mix and master, he can create sounds, his beats sound thick, never cheap like kanye's

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
that's great and i know a lot of people on here like to pretend Kanye was only alive before Graduation happened, but his drums kicked way up after that album. Just Blaze has a good ear for live drumming but his programming is like a lot of other rap producers from that time period
Fam. As a producer myself and a fan of Kanye since before he was “Kanye” and someone who knows both him and Just’s whole catalog. I know what im talkin bout. Just Blaze is the more talented technician. Kanye’s drums werent trash. But they were definitely NOT fukkin wit Just Blaze’s. Theres a REASON Just Blaze was The Roc’s go to producer even while Kanye was there.

Without a doubt.

Just Blaze is arguably the most skilled hip-hop producer of all time.

The dude can literally do any style of beat, and make them sound perfect. he can do soul samples, loops, chops, lo-fi, keyboard beats, sample beats that sound like non-sampled beats, non-sampled beats that sound like sampled beats, glossy radio tracks, drumless joints, beats with live instruments, beats with orchestras, house records, etc. He can write hooks, and even sing them. He can make a dope beat all on the pads himself, or he can make a beat without touching anything, and directing other people to do it. He can get busy on a rum set. The list goes on.

He arguably took Bink's sound from 1-900 Hustler and You Me Him Her and did it better than Bink ever did.

Just Blaze is the kind of dude that could end up scoring movies and it wouldn't surprise me even a little bit.

It's insane too because he doesn't even seem to be interested in hip-hop anymore, and he could make a classic album with damn near anyone tomorrow.
