Tthere's nothing ridiculous about it. You have to either be a part of your child's life or else pay child support into their lives. That's why we advocate marriage, temperance, etc. Some men don't like to get married, don't want to take care of their children, etc and then complain. Get married and take care or your kids or else don't have kids. You have obligations now and your pay is going to your kids' unless you're in the household helping them.

OBVIOUSLY the mother has to take care of the children too but since the mother didn't make the thread complaining about taking care of her children I didn't say anything and if it was I would have said the same damn thing. OBVIOUSLY it should be 50/50. Yes food, clothes, transportation, toys, entertainment, day care for TWO children could cost over 2k. Thinking someone should take care of their child doesn't make me a "heaux" or a bytch. If I was told I had to pay 1k a month for my TWO kids, I would do it. I would actually pay more.

We don't know but OP got himself into this situation. Maybe he chose the wrong girl; maybe he had different intentions about the nature of their relationship; maybe he didn't use a condom. Whatever the oversight or situation, OP takes full responsibility for his decisions and outcomes. Children are born to OP now and he will provide for them. @JAY? can either get back together with his girl and make things work out OR he pay independently into his children's lives via his pay check. When I graduate law school I want to become a judge and I'll tell @JAY? just that. That's your life now. You will be there for your children, in person or in spirit.

I understand what you are saying, but it seems like the OP was handling his business before the down fall of the situation.......CS is almost like the example below for some people...
You buy a house and rent is $500 a month and out of the blue the mortgage company raises your monthly payment to $1300,,,,,you going to mad as shyt because you can't afford that note...
then you have the taxes,, if you making 40K ,the government taking almost 9k from that + living,insurance, etc
$1000 a month he needs to be making 6 figures or at least 70K

That's why I said it sucks but that's how it is. I'm positive $400 a month isn't enough for two children. Kids are expensive, people say it all the time. That's why I don't have any because I know I'll be spending a huge portion of my income on them and I wouldn't be able to complain because I chose to have them. I'm married so it will be a lot easier when I have kids but I will still end up spending a lot on my children.
