our most important player going forward is hassan. and spo has handled him the exact opposite of great. I can't even count how many opposing announcers have shytted on him for the way he's handled hassan. not even including espn and tnt announcers. hubie brown destroyed him the last game he called for us. these announcers are actually left in amazement at how horribly spo deals with hassan. hassan is 7th i the league in PER. there's nothing more to gauge....his impact is proven. no more experimenting. no more assessing. every meaningful statistic shows hassan has been our most impactful player this season. benching him for entire 4th quarters has nothing to do with spo trying to figure it out. it's spo being a moron. and by "turn the corner" I mean spo has finally started giving hassan meaningful 4th quarter minutes these past few games. something he should have done a long time ago. it shouldn't take hassan bytching to the media or posting subliminals on social media. he deserves to be out there no matter the situation. he's earned it.
You're making the same mistake as before. Neither you, nor the announcers know the best way to handle the situation because y'all don't have the knowledge of it.
And sure, Hassan has good numbers, but we're also statistically better defensively without him on the court. So one could argue both ways.
There's a next man up culture, a culture where some nights you're called upon and some nights you're not, a stay ready culture, a championship culture that the coaching staff is building. No one says anything negative when Pop benches the entire starting lineup.
And again, we don't know how to best handle Hassan. So we can't say Spo should've let him play the 4th earlier.
Maybe missing more free throws would've ruined his psyche. Maybe defensive lapses would've diminished his confidence. Maybe playing well would've gone to his head too much and they want to keep that in check.
You just don't know. You just don't know. So it's not really something you can critique
