This is low-key a bar...

It was very easy to know who a big rapper was in the late 90s/early 00s because we didn't have social media. We had BET, MTV and the radio.

The stars would do their press runs on The Basement and 106 & Park. Their videos would be on TV, that was our exposure and awareness.

Much easier putting a face to the music. Now the listener has to seek that out on their own. You have to pull up YouTube and search for the video. I'm sure a lot of people just hear songs on auto play now and have no idea who these people are or what they look like

So I'm not surprised Kai don't know who he is especially if they just walking up on each other randomly and it seems Kai didn't grow up around black Americans. It wasn't like folks was bumping him 24/7 but we were definitely aware of who he was.
