Genius breeds eccentricity

Hence, I am not surprised at some of the seemingly bizarre responses to questions.

hes not a genius...... excellent producer, good rapper.... has a great artistic vision but Kanye and the word genius shouldnt be in the same paragraph let alone sentence ......

Yeah
there's a very tangible effect on production that MBDTF, a lot of people striving for more experimental stuff/maximalist approach/overproduction, which was one of the main themes of that album

im saying if MBDTF didnt come out GKMC would sound a lot different.

Damn my nikka that was a powerful post :krs:

Why people acting like Kanye West just became an a$$hole? He's been a$$hole since College Dropout. You gotta salute this nikka for being the same person all his life. He traded in the pink polo and backpack for a givenchy tee and a new backpack. same ol' ye.

Yeezus Walks
The Nucleus is pretty deep, cuh. All life originates from pre-existing cells so it only fits that he's the nucleus. Without 808s you wouldn't have Drake.

or future

I'd say My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Yes, it got rave reviews and what not, but impact wise and influence, that album came and went. G.O.O.D. Fridays, the Runaway video, and the hype surrounding the album was >>>>>> the album itself in terms of impact and influence. In comparison to every album that Kanye dropped before, MBDTF made the least amount of noise. It was one of those albums where the event >>>> than the album.

I'm not saying the album was wack, in fact it was a dope album, but being honest, that album didn't have moments like:

Jesus Walks
All Falls Down
Gold Digger
Diamonds Are Forever
Stronger
Heartless

^^^ All of those songs were huge and were "impact" records. When College Dropout dropped, there was a shift in Hip Hop towards the more social and political issues. Late Registration was more so Kanye's progression sonically. Graduation is really when the tides turned and it phased out the era that 50 helped bring back to the forefront. Then 808's influenced an artist like Drake.

Yeah, Even I gotta disagree with this b/c you had guys like nas, talib kweli, mos def, and Common among others who were still rapping about social issues while getting spins on the radio and videos on TV and what not.

This was when ye was still producing for those acts.

The only difference between them and ye is that ye had a more BOLD and BRASH approach which garnered a lot more attention and hate in the process.
